Tariq's game today.

Noel talks about how everyone is becoming more used to the game as we're 12 shows in, and more and more people are going to the end, Gloria being the second and winning herself £10,000. Noel wonders if we'll ever have a first-offer deal...we look at the board



Tariq has box 5 today - Box 5 twice in a row, says Noel! Tariq Etemadi is a 21-year-old student studying at Sussex University, he is doing a degree in History! Tariq says that he's here to win student loans, and also set up financial security for his life post-university...Noel says they sound like very intelligent plans! Noel reminds us of Tariq's awful predictions as to what is in his box, and Tariq says that he feels like it could be a low red, and Noel wonders if that means we'll find the 1p or the £250,000 in it today....

We see some pictures...Tariq's girlfriend Anita is in the audience today for support.

Not bad, says Tariq. Noel asks him where he thinks the £250,000 is, as it'll probably be the 1p! Tariq has a feeling about Box 6...

Another fantastic opening round, says Noel...very close to an all-blue round! Tariq says it's amazing...the banker rings and says that it's actually the best opening round we've had so far...he says that as a student, Tariq needs the money and won't go for it, and Tariq shakes his head in disagreement...

Welcome back to Tariq's game....it's been an awful round so far, and after the best first round, we don't want the worst second round, says Noel!

Tariq says that he knew the opening was too good to be true, and Noel says that the board is still pretty good, but the banker won't be as generous now...the banker rings and says that it was a brilliant round, he asks Tariq for another like that...he points out that since Gloria had a red in box 5 yesterday, it is likely to be a blue, and the banker is kindly making an offer higher than the contents of his box.

Who does he think he is, says Noel, coming into the game and revealing £250,000! Dylan laughs and apologizes to Tariq...the banker says that despite that round, the previous offer was so unfair, he's actually gone up!

This is awful luck, says Noel....he says he's going to give Tariq a pep talk and he calls a break!

We're slowly getting there, says Tariq. Noel says that the £75,000 was a huge loss, but he thinks the offer might just get increased...the banker says that despite what he said about him being a student, he thought Tariq may take him for a lot of money, but obviously he was wrong.

Tariq says it was kind to double it, but he's sure there's going to be bigger money in the game...Noel says that despite the bad luck, there's a positive feel about this game, and he wonders if that's because there's £50,000 waiting for Tariq to win...

Tariq is ready for not only the all-blue round, but the perfect round...so that's 50p, £5, and £100, says Noel

Tariq says that just to have £50,000 still there is brilliant, and Noel agrees. The banker rings and asks Tariq what a fair offer would be, and Tariq says about £10,000. The banker says his perception of fair is definately not right!

Tariq is unsure of what to do now...Robbie tells him that if he finds the £50,000, but not the £15k, then the offer will be around the same. Gus calculates it as a 70% chance of the offer staying around the same or going up...Tariq asks what the chance of it going up are, and its 40%....Tariq likes those odds, but he doesn't want to lose that money. He asks his girlfriend for the first time, and she tells him to go for it! Noel says she looks like a dealer, and Anita says that £50,000 is life-changing, and £6,500 is not...

NO says Noel, not what we wanted! Tariq throws back his head and says he's gutted...

Banker time with £750 and £15,000 remaining.



Noel says that this is familiar...a blue vs a red final two....the only time the offer has been declined is with Mark, who nearly won 1p! The banker rings and says that he is sure £750 is on the table...he tells Gus that he is wrong, and he's not sticking.

Tariq says that he's gutted there hasn't been the big money for him in the game...he asks Anita and she sighs and shrugs...Noel says they really do look gutted, and Tariq says that he was hoping he'd be able to pay off a lot of stuff and be able to get some money to start their life together, and he hasn't been able to do that. Noel asks if £15,000 would help, and Tariq says it would, but he's not sure if he can afford to lose that £4,000....Noel asks Tariq if he would have continued previously if Anita had told him to deal, and Tariq said he probably would have done whatever she wanted him to do. Melinda tells him that one it's in his bank account, he'll see that £4,750 is a lot of money...

Tariq says

Sorry I didn't have the bravery, Tariq says. Noel tells him that he's been brave to get this far, and he feels sorry that it hasn't gone his way - he says that £4,750 is a lot of money, and Tariq will finds ways to start his and Anita's life together. Noel says that he's really hoping that the amazing chance for £15,000 was never there.

Noel opens box 5 and reveals £750

Tariq says he was close with a guess of a low red!

Harrison opens box 9 and reveals the £15,000.

So in the end, you made the right decision, and Tariq says that considering the highest offer was just £6,500, he did well to get £4,750 out of it. Noel agrees, and tells us to tune in tomorrow, where perhaps a game of contrast is waiting!
