Laurence's game today.

Noel says that the 50th Show is getting ever closer, but after today's show a two week break is taking place on Deal Or No Deal, and we will be back on Monday 26th May. Noel tells todays player - who we know from the battle of the sexes is going to be male - to follow in Irene's footsteps as she completley beat the banker and took the maximum sum of money from her game...here's the board



Laurence has Box 20 today. Laurence Fisher is a 26-year old pharmacutical researcher from Kent...Laurence breifly talks about his job and says he loves it...Noel says that today is going to be interesting looking at Laurence's gambling record...Laurence talks about his gang of friends and how they dare each other to do things with financial rewards...Laurence shows us some pictures, one of them of him in hospital after a dare when slightly wrong...

The banker rings, unexpectedly and says he has an interesting twist to the game today...he tells Laurence that he has a dare for him...if he has an all-blue round, the opening offer will be £20,000...but if he has an all-red round, he will not get an offer until the last 5 boxes...Noel says Laurence must choose to accept the challenge or not, and Laurence says he will! He then confirms he chose Box 20 at random, before the show...

Noel says that when the banker made the offer, he probably didn't expect this would actually happen! Laurence says he's thrilled...the banker quickly rings and says he's furious!

Laurence says it's such a great offer...there's never been anything close to £20,000 as an offer at this stage...Noel says he forgot to introduce Laurence's friend Phil earlier...Phil says that it's the first offer, but £20,000 is a lot of money...Noel says this is the first time anyone's really considered going so early, and Laurence says it's never been £20,000 before! Laurence says he's ready...

Laurence says

NO DEAL

Next round...the banker rings and makes a new offer to Laurence! He says, should he find any of the top 3, the offer will be £750....but if he doesn't find any of them, the offer will be £5,000 higher than it should be...Laurence again accepts...

Noel says that Laurence won the deal again, and the banker won't be happy...the banker rings and says that this offer may sound low after the opening one, but the opening one was an inflation as part of the special twist to this game...the offer would have been £14,200, but with the £5,000 increase, it's much higher...

You're certainly setting records, Noel says...Laurence agrees and says it's fantastic! He says for some reason this one seems easier than the first offer, but it was only because of the initial shock that £20,000 was there for him to take...he asks Scarlett who says it's so much money with what is usually offered for that board...

Laurence says

Next round...Noel says the phone may ring...Noel and Laurence wait in silence before deciding the banker is too scared to make another special deal with him!

Noel says it's not what we wanted at all..the banker rings and says that Laurence didn't need a special offer to decrease the offer hugely!

Next round...the banker now rings again and says after that round, he's found the courage to challenge Laurence for a third time! He says that if Laurence finds the 10p, the offer will be that £7,500 higher than it should be, but if he finds the £100k, he will give Laurence a punishment as he see fits...Laurence accepts the offer again!

Here we go...brace yourselves, Noel says!

Noel reminds us that if this is 10p, we get a huge increase in the offer, but if it's £100k, the banker will dish out a punishment!

So he's challenged you three times, and lost three times, Noel says...you're certainly winding him up! The banker rings and says he knows he'll win at one point....he says the offer would have now been £10,000....but Laurence had to go and find that 10p!

Laurence says that's a huge offer...he says he has no idea what to do now...the banker rings and says he'll tell him what the next challenge will be now...it'll be that if he finds more blues than reds, the offer will be 100% of the mean, but if he finds more reds than blues, the offer will be 1% of the mean...Noel says this deviation from the format really is interesting for a one-off show, and the last show before the break...Laurence says it's a huge risk going on when the next offer could be 1% of the mean...he checks with Phil who says he thought Laurence said he was going all the way...Laurence says it's easier said than done when there's £17,500 in play...

Laurence says

The audience cheer and Noel says he thought Laurence may have gone for it...he tells him that the £17,500 has put the men in the lead now for the battle of the sexes! He tells Laurence all he needs to do is find more reds than blues now!

The banker rings and Noel says it obviously won't take him long to sort out the offer...the banker says Laurence would have won for a fourth time, but really, as he dealt, the banker won this time...

Laurence says he would have dealt again...he says it's just too much money...the banker rings and says that for the last round, there wouldn't have been a special deal, but he wouldn't have told Laurence that until after the question had been answered at £32,150...

We play on...now it's back to normal rules - find the £50k, and find the £100k, Noel says...

Groans...Laurence sighs and takes a seat, looking gutted...Noel says this is looking just like Patrick's game from two days ago, and Laurence must stop it...

Noel says that the banker will be thrilled...the banker rings and says that Laurence may have won the stupid little deals, but the main victory is his!

£17,500 is believable for the final five offer not 8-box - jeez!

Laurence says he's so disappointed that he couldn't have gone on, and Noel says that seems to be what most of the men in this Battle of the sexes have said...and the only one who didn't won £500! Noel says it could be just £50,000 that's been lost, but he has a horrible feeling it's that £100,000 again...

A shame we couldn't have had that big win and that banker defeat before the two week break...Laurence says £17,500 is a lot of money to him. Noel tells us to join again in two weeks when the final man and woman will play in the run up to our 50th show!

Today's question - What did you think of the 'deals' before rounds between the banker and Laurence, which changed the offers (without the deals, the offers would have been £6,000 - £14,200 - £7,500 - £10,000 - £25,000 - £75,000

I quite liked them! I think you could put them in every so often! If every show was like this it would be boring! So I would say do this kind of show evrey few weeks or something!

It was definitely a great idea, just the proveout offer at final five seemed a tad high...apart from that though lovely!
