Here in Australia the show is on at 5:30pm weekdays. The show has bee on for a couple of years now, and it continues to gain viewers. Last year DOND was up against The Price Is Right on a competing channel, and DOND destroyed it in the ratings resulting in them cancelling Price. After that, the same competing channel decided to introduce a daily version of Millionaire (which was popular for the network in a weekly timeslot). DOND made shot work of it too, having Millionaire cancelled after just a month or 2.

This year, the competing channel decided to relaunch an old game show "Family Fued", with the new host being a well know Australian tv personality. They had very high hopes for it, and on the first night of competition FF had about 830,000 viewers, which was about equally to what DOND got. It looked like DOND may finally have been offered a challenge, but on the second night of competition, FF dropped to around 500,000, and continued to fall for the next week till it only had about 400,000 viewers, to DONDs 800,000+.

Last week, DONDs ratings were even better, gaining more than 900,000 viewers every day, and even breaking 1,000,000 for the first time on the monday.

I'm not sure what FF numbers were for the same time, but they can't have been good.

Is that just the same as Family Fortunes, but Australian?

Apparently FF now averages around 700,000, while DOND averages around 1,000,000.

I'm shocked to say the least, that FF can manage more that 300,000.
