Howie begins the show by welcoming everyone to Deal or No Deal stadium! The entire set is football-themed for today’s show, there are cheerleaders in one of the audience pits, and the models are wearing football jersey dresses. each with their own number on it of course ?. Howie brings out the contestant, George Marge, blindfolded, who is shocked to discover that his episode his themed with his favorite pastime, football! He is a high school teacher and is obviously a major football fan. He wants to get enough money to be able to attend more football games . His favorite team is the Colts! In addition to family supporters, Howie brings in famous football players as well to help George along, each of whom stands by a model! George is over the moon with this!

George gets a jersey from a football player named Manning which is numbered 18, so George decides to pick 18!

Howie tells George he had no safety net and has won a ton of money! That’s the end of this unbelievable, and totally unexpectedly exciting show!

Almost anyone except a reckless gambler or a fanatic believer (Dean Cartechini-type player) would have gambled a $1,000,000, no safety net board to the end.

And almost everyone would have dealt after $10,000 was revealed with a $341,000 AMO as a result.

Now, mind you, had this been active play down to a $5/$1,000,000 situation AND he had said no deal to another AMO offer of $520,000, he would have turned down an offer of a case swap in a hurry, as he was wearing a number 18 jersey, the very reason why he picked it in the first place.

Mind you, had he not revealed the $750,000, he most likely would have carried on until he had hit one of the big two left.

Also, for those who don't follow American football, the Manning is actually Peyton Manning, the quarterback of his hometown team, the Indianapolis Colts.

As for the cases, #25, #11 and #18 continue having high numbers, with $500K, $100K and the Million respectively.

Case #7 was a bit overdue for a large number, and it indeed had $400K in it.

Cases #11, #16 and #25 have had 2 big number this season already, and 2 of the cases which regularly have high numbers (#11 and #18) have already had the $1,000,000. I'm not surprised that #18 brought out the million, given Marisa's track record.

Good game, and playing on until it got to a one-case game was entirely reasonable strategy - although it'd have felt rather better if he'd bought a small amount to the table...!

I think I might have done the same myself... the $237,000 could have been higher I think, and if it were over a quarter-million I suspect I would be walking. That said, I'd have received a regular eight-case offer and with the top two and nothing else above $100,000 at that point, anything substantially over $100,000 would be worthy of serious consideration. I think the tipping point for me would be closer to $150,000 though.

Expensive episode for Endemol for sure, seeing as they ended up giving away the car too! When does the Million Dollar Mission start?

Ha ha ha. You got me, Alex. I think the player's strategy made sense, though. He had no safety net, and thus he felt he had to get out of there with some money, and that's exactly what he did. He wasn't greedy; rather, he played the game rather conservatively, which is how I would have played. I'm not worried about him selling a million-dollar case for 18.9% of its value, though. We have the Million-Dollar Mission thing now, so expect a millionaire within the next few months. If it were me behind the Dollar Table, I would have probably taken the $341,000. As long as I win some substantial amount of money, I don't care what's in my case. So what if I have the million? At least I'm winning money that I can use. In future, let's try to have more game like this one, and less game where people win less than an hour's pay. Be warned, I still will lash out at the low-scoring games, though not as harshly anymore. I've learned my lesson... somewhat.

I definitely would have gotten 341k out of that game! The banker usually offers AMOs at 3 and 2 box for reason. I think the most gambling person we've seen on the show was the guy who turned down 305k with $25, $10,000, and $1,000,000. He then knocked out the million and left with $25!! No one has even left the $1,000,000 to the final two in active play yet. Imagine if during the Million Dollar Mission someone's last 6 cases were 6 millions . Would the banker just keep offering a million?

Actually in one of the special eps last season on the first week, there was a contestant who did leave $750K and $1M as her last two cases in active play (but there also existed $3M and $6M cases also).

She got an offer of $880K, which she turned down. She then refused a swap and only won $750K.
