I mean, with all the surprises and all the crap games recently, will the players be into it much?

Well from what I've heard, especially after reading certain TV mags, it will be certainly one to watch, if not for a big win, then for the entertainment factor.

Unfortunately I can't watch it - at work

I was expecting show 500 to be an hour-long special. I don't normally like the hour-long specials as they tend to drag on a bit unless they have extra stuff (such as the hall of fame during Double Deal Week) and the behind the scenes stuff at Christmas, but Noel has promised loads of behind-the-scenes stuff for show 500... so how on earth are they going to fit that into a 45-minute slot, as well as speaking to ex-contestants who will form the audience AND fit in the extra-special game which will have a jackpot of £500,000?

Unless it's a game where it will continue this abysmal run of £100,000 being found in the first round, £250,000 not on the table, and by chance £500,000 found in the first round. Then you're virtually left chasing the money all throughout the game.

The only other thing I can think of is that heavy editing is done so it does fit all the special bits in, and yet not as much of the game as usual. Just simply box choosings, an offer, a possible think about the offer, then a decision.

I can't wait until the 500th show and it will be fun to have £500,000 as the jackpot. :D

I thought the same. If it was a particularly exciting and tense game there is no way they could squeeze it into 45 minutes and add lots of special extra stuff as well.

In reality I suppose the chances are it'll be an ordinaryish game and thus have plenty of 'filler' that can be edited out to make way for all the additional bits.

yes maybe Annie will play. She's a dealer and the presence of the 500K might inflate the offers early on so she could deal at the 3rd or 4th offer for 20-30K or something.

I almost feel sorry for the player who will be playing tomorrow. With it just being a 45 minute show, and with all the special surprises, and behind the scenes footage etc. there will probably be little time for gameplay, so it'll be more edited. Their viewing their big moment in the chair will be dominated with the welcoming back of players we have already seen...

And was it really necessary for all this countdown, and all these surprises? Why can't Deal or No Deal celebrate this milestone just being Deal or No Deal? :?

This kind of 'special' show should really be broadcast on sunday evening. If they want any special additions to the show they should have an hour - that gives them ten or so minutes extra and they wouldn't have to interfere with the rest of the show.

I predict the first ever second-offer Deal, certainly if some of the Christmas early offers were any guide. I'm sure Wrighty would have gone at offer 2 if the 500k had survived that far, and I sense tomorrow's player might be cut from the same cloth. And if so, there's an eight-in-eleven chance they'll at least keep it that far...

Actually the Banker probably will keep the offers down. If that's the case I predict a spectacular high-speed game collapse, possibly one driven by the players listening to the big-time gamblers that I'm sure will be the loudest voices in the Dream Factory tomorrow.

I think they will be looking to avoid a blue win at all costs (especially if it's Matchplay as well?) and give maximum airtime to the returning contestants and extra features - so I think it will be generous offers and an earlyish deal.

It's sure to be a great atmosphere, but would be surprised if it's a classic game, and it will probably be a show that doesn't really need a classic game anyway.

I think exactly the same. That's what's making me think Annie will play. She seems like someone who will be sensible and deal for a nice amount rather than gamble and lose the lot. She seems like a nice lady too and fairly good at spotting the right deal, so the ideal candidate for the 500th show. Oooh, just realised, this is my 500th post!

The 500th show should have been extended for sure.

Perhaps someone could've told Richard and Judy not to bother coming in to work for the day?

Well they went out of their way with all that extra behind-the-scenes footage. All 30 seconds worth.

How on earth did they squeeze it all into 45 minutes. :?

I'm sorry but it lived up to recent expectations, I just KNEW the top prize would go in the first round.

It sucked, and I was very disappointed. But she did deserve that OPW at the very least!

I was really disappointed by today's game - an hour long special would have been appropriate. And what about all the past players in the audience - what was the point of them being there, we had a couple of words from Harry and Laura and that was it!!!

Did anyone else notice Joey and Danny sitting next to each other, how sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We knew before the show that the only behind the scenes footage would be the box selection. Last week Noel told us that this week he would tell us EXACTLY what we would be seeing. All he mentioned was the box selection.
