I've always wondered how players are allocated their positions. Obviously depending on when they arrive, they will receive a good idea where they will stand because of who has recently played. But how do they decide who goes on when? There must be many players arriving each day, so how to they choose which ones to put on first?

Also, I find it interesting that all the players we have seen in wheelchairs have been in the same position, W11. Surely it can't be coincidence that they have all arrived in time for the previous players in that position (Peter after Dave, Vikki after Geoff and Alan after Mac) to have played? Or do the producers just sabotage the positions other players to put them there? (obviously it would be easier access to the table)

Yes, They could use E1

But Phil couldn't walk too well and they plonked him all the way over in E10

Wheelchair bound people are obviously kept for E11 and W1 positions as it's user friendly.

Grrrrr!

Why do I always get West Wing and East Wing mixed up?!?!?!?!?!?

You know what I mean anyways! That's three wheelchair-bound players in W11 and it's also user friendly to use E1 as well!

Was gonna say. It would tae them a while to wheel out of E11 / W1  Why haven't we ever had anyone in a wheelchair in E1?

All I can remember was that I saw her use two walking sticks, can't remember seeing a wheelchair much.

I've wondered this too - I assume they must take into account how well certain players would fit in on the wings - having a row of old players or a row of players from the same sex would be a bit odd - although I do believe at one point there was a row of five men who were all from a similar age group as well. :?
