On the American DOND Brooks Leech was given a second chance at playing the game after his stupidity and greed bagged him $10 during his first try. I still harbour lingering resentment towards him and, although this sounds cruel, I'm glad he only won $400 second time round as he seemed clueless at assessing the offers, and it was almost as though he couldn't bring himself to press the deal button.

Anyway, I was thinking, maybe we should give a previous player a second try at the game. Preferably someone who had relentless bad luck (and I mean relentless, which excludes 90% of the occasions on which Noel uses the word) e.g. Philomena. Clearly it would need to happen towards the end of DOND's life expectancy, but what are your views on this and, if you agree, to whom would you give a second chance?

A part of me does agree with it; I mean, how gutted would you be knowing that you have been so unbelievably lucky to be picked for the show, wait for such a long time, then have a crap game? And knowing that's it, its over, it will never again will you have another go.

But then it completely contradicts with the rule that it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. The show is all about consequence and risk, and it is taking that risk that ends up a player where they get to in a game. I say, when a player takes a risk, they take in the knowledge that they will never have another got- rather like life itself....

If it was going to happen, I would want it to be with either Philomena or 1p Trevor (even though he turned down £9,900).

However, I don't want it to happen so what's the point in me making a suggestion.

£1 Mike - he just got the worst offers I've ever seen and never got a chance to take home more than three grand or so (unless he'd dealt the first offer). Plus he was an absolute legend (but only I seem to think that!). Same with Sharron. I'd also say Ken given his offers, but at least he won something meaningful!

There's too many people wanting to get on the show to
give someone a second chance. It's not just about the money,
it's having the experience of being on the show, and that should count
for something.

Having said that, if there was one person I would want to play again
if given the opportunity it would have to be Trevor (1p), one of my
favorite contestants who really deserved a better result, also Lucy (50 shows) and Raj (2)! :D

I don't think anyone should be given a second chance as the game is all about luck and risk-taking, and some people win and some people lose... but if I had to choose a player who should be given another go it would probably be Philomena as it was one of the worst games ever in terms of the luck she had and the poor offers she received as a result of her board.

Well, having done the fictional version it's certainly an interesting topic! A lot of the names who had shockingly bad games throughout have already been mentioned - Trevor, Lucy, Philomena, Sharron, Ken. To that I'd add 1p Nick for the fantastic way in which he took his misfortune as the first ever 1p winner, and also Giorgio whose game we saw at the weekend on the classic series. 10p Raj who was the first blue winner. And not forgetting Geordie, though I'd be very surprised if we saw him near the Endemol studios again!

As for whether it should/will be done - Noel always says "you will never sit in that chair again", but I just can't see them resisting that twist forever. It's been done in other countries, and it could work as part of the regular series with a number of unlucky past contestants returning to the wings, or as a few prime time specials with them just turning up for one show.

I don't think it should ever be allowed. To be picked in the first place is such a precious gift so to get a second chance when so many people are denied a first chance hardly seems fair to me.

Though I suppose fairness won't be that high on Endemol's list of priorities when ratings are at stake.

I agree and particularly with the bolded bit - I think if they were to do such a show, it should be an extra one and certainly not replace the normal afternoon one - perhaps have a week of evening shows as well where there is a "second chance" element with the people being given a second chance standing on the wings and moving back to their positions after they've played so they don't have to get "new" players on.

I still don't think it'd really work though... but I wouldn't put anything past Endemol, especially as it's worked in other countries.

I don't think it would work really because the player has to try and make the right decision at the time although they've had an unfortunate turn of luck, lots of people who won blues have still turned down 10K- 20K and unfortunately that's part of the game.

If it is going to happen and I don't think it really should, only players who have had extreme trainwrecks be on it like Philomena, Raj (2), Ken, 1p Sharron etc.,
