Today we saw Pj's show when he was forced to go on as he had a swap offer with no money! now i know the banker was unfair to just offer the swap but that is exactly what he is meant to be and his character is-UNFAIR! PJ had a 50/50 chance of winning 75K, he got 1p and we're all gutted for him obviously, yet for the banker to then give him the viewers box is an absolute farce and completely unfair to all the over 1p winners! This is a gameshow not a charity show! Does anyone else feel the same? the banker is meant to have a mean streak but now i just see this show as a charity! and its unfair on those who have actually gone away with 1p! JOKE!

Yes it was unacceptable because in calculating whether to no deal at 5 box it took great courage as there was a 40% chance of avoiding the 75K to 2 box. If he had known that he had to no deal all the way to the end effectively then the odds are reduced to a 20% chance of having the 75K in active play, and with those kind of odds he might have wanted to deal at 5 box instead. The reason why he got to win what was in the viewer's box was because there would have been an outcry about him winning 1p when there was no 6th offer. To get offered a swap in the 1st or 2nd offer is acceptable but to do it at the business end of the game goes against the spirit of the show.

I agree he should have gone home with just 1p.

I think they only compensated him if you liek with the viewers box because they lost their bottle in terms of how much backlash the show would get from this.

Todays show highlights just how far DOND has sunk - it really smacked of desperation.

Sorry to say this but I think the tme has come to pull the plug.

sorry i mean PJ, thanks never_wrong.
I agree they completely lost their bottle, the banker is meant to be nasty and he was, it wasn't that PJ didnt get a chance as he could have dealt at 20K earlier and even had a 50/50 chance of 75K, then he STILL ends up with 15K! itsa gameshow not charity, and im sure the 1p winners are rightly annoyed.

I agree with you, Pam. It was just awful today. I thought that after PJ had declined the swap, then the banker would phone back with a proper offer. I didn't enjoy it today, and if they keep on going with gimmicks like that, I don't know how long I'll continue watching.

I appreciate you all saying it was not fair on the other 1p winners and I agree with that, but if it was you would you have said no when you won an additional 15k I know I wouldn't of, but I do see your point totally

No, we wouldnt be moaning but PJ should not have been put in that position in the first place. Speaking as an ex-contestant, I didnt like yesterday's show one little bit. It takes a HUGE amount of courage to go on. It is very easy to say "deal" or "no deal" when you are sitting in the comfort of your own home but when it is you, and it is your money at stake, it is a totally different ball game. It all seems very easy money but it is not really. Dont get me wrong, i am ETERNALLY grateful for having been given the chance to be there for the whole experience but i think it was really unfair on PJ and it turns me off the game, if the banker can be a law unto himself. What happened to risk and reward?????

I would have been totally gutted if that had of happened to me.

At least all the other 1p winners had a chance to get out of the game at the last minute!

I doubt the swap would have mattered that much if it was a final two of, say, 1p and £750 but with a life changing amount of money still on the board, PJ should have been offered a sensible monetary offer. It was totally harsh and unfair in my opinion.

Travis P has just drawn attention to this that has been posted on Bother's Bar...

We play sexy football

We asked TV's Glenn Hugill if there was a crisis of conscience after last Sunday's amazing episode of Deal or No Dealwhere PJ wasn't made a final cash offer, had the 1p box but was allowed to take home whatever was opened in the viewer's box. I think he's dodged the question, he thinks he's answered indirectly. MAKE UP YOUR OWN MINDS.

"Who'd be a football manager? Even if you're top of the league with record attendances, there will always be some fans who still think your tactics suck. Sometimes, these supporters will hang around in a bar and discuss how they would run the club. And who's to say it wouldn't be better under their rule? That's what makes football worth talking about.

We played the beautiful game last Sunday as it happens. It was a thriller in front of another extraordinary crowd. We were a goal up with just seconds to go. A unique passage of play led us to execute one of our famous one-offs; a risky new set piece. It could have sealed a glorious victory but in fact the ball ended up in the opposite net. Some fans reckon it was an own goal; others say it was just an unfortunate deflection - replays are unclear. A whistle blew. The 45 minutes were up.

We could settle for a draw or risk extra time. If we dared play on, there was only a 1 in 3 chance of the golden goal going our way and giving us the title. Failure was twice as likely.
The odds were against us.
But we went for it.
Because we play sexy football.

PS We've just been taken over by a millionaire too."

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.
