I think so as well. The offers seem to have been just about right for the last 2 games, and I haven't noticed the blue chanting. I also like it when Noel introduces the players at the beginning.

It's always been good, just some people have seen a dip earlier this year.

This week is better than the last week of crap, and that's the only improvement I can see.

You bet the show is getting better!

Two, three weeks ago, I never thought I'd say this but I'm really enjoying the show at the moment and the current line-up is frigging ace!

Everything that we complained about is fast vanishing from the show - the chants, the lack of not getting to know the contestants, Noel constantly moaning, inflated offers...they're even cutting down on the use of gimmicks! It's like Endemol have read these boards and done something about it!

Like what Aaron Brock said, it's always been good but recently it has got much better. I hope this awesomeness doesn't last just for the duration of the current line-up, but that it will continue on in the future. The show is definately on it's way up again.

The beginning of March was awesome then there was a rocky patch with crazy offers and proveout offers etc. and banker victories but since mid April its been pretty good

I have to agree the show is a lot better than it was this time a month ago. I have to say I got to a stage where I wasn't really bothered about it. :? But since about mid-April, I've been enjoying it much more and May could be shaping up to be a good month, so long as Noel's guilt trips, the banker's inflated in-play and proveout offers and the gimmicks are kept to a minimum! Let's hope the newbies are equally good as the current 22, which has some awesome people in it!

I saw today's game in order to provide commentary for the Bar. Noel's still a long way short of neutrality, but the offers are heading in the right direction and the wing-walking introduction is a nice new touch. The show's starting to recover from the nadir of the post-Laura era, and we are one step away from remember May 2007 as the month that saved DoND.

No questions except one: does Noel want to be hosting this show this time next year? If he continues to host it in this way, the ratings are likely to continue their decline, particularly among older viewers, and as a result Endemol/Channel 4 will have no choice but to say to him what he pressures others to say to him - No Deal.

I like the way we are FINALLY getting to know the contestants

The chants are gradually phasing out with them being toned down and not going over the top as they used to but they still backfire occasionally so the sooner they are gone completely the better

Noel not being so nasty when a contestant has gone too early or gone on to have a car crash game

Keep it up, DOND

When they started last summer, they only happened at crucial points of the game, then in July time they faded away, then they re-appeared during the episodes that were recorded in the summer (i.e. September / October time), then they lingered and then started to get earlier and earlier in the game, hitting a ridiculous peak around March time. Now, as with last summer, they only seem to be happening at crucial parts of the game - which is far preferable to them happening after the 2nd box!

I don't think they actually add anything to a game really so it's good that they're on their way out!

Yes, I think it's much improved. Like some others I was finding myself losing interest and getting more and more irritated with Noel and other aspects but now I find I'm falling back in love with it!!

I think the new introduction is great and let's be honest it's about time that was changed, and all the other reasons that people in this thread have stated..... the getting to know contestants, the reduction of blue chanting (will be better once this has gone FOREVER!!) Noel's being less agressive... It's ALL good! :smt026

As far as characters in the wings go it's been getting much better for the last month or so, but I've thought recently that what this era really needed was a few defining games - and we certainly got one of those today!

If a few of the current line-up get games to match their contributions in the wings then this month could be up there with March and October 2006 and January 2007.

Well this last week or so has certainly been among the most memorable. We've had some great characters play, and in terms of gameplay we've seen some fantastic victories over the Banker (even if not huge money ones), a couple of dramatic crash and burn games and of course one of the most controversial games in the show's history!

Only complaint (apart from PJ's treatment at the hands of the Banker) would be too many of the stand-out characters playing early. The next generation of players have a lot to do to live up to what we've seen recently!

yes it is getting slowly better - the sane banker is coming back, with the late2005 offers for any final 5 where the £250k is existent. He does seem to go off the hook a little sometimes though, like today which is very disappointijng in one respect. However it is getting better i think

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.
