From our lovely friends over at http://www.bothersbar.co.uk/ :-

Quote:
According to our very good friends at Buzzerblog, Royal Television Society Daytime Programme of the Year Deal or No Deal will be airing twice daily at 4:15 and 8:00PM during the week of June 12th, opposite the World Cup as "something alternative to watch".

Good things: a documentary on extreme winners and losers and how it's changed their lives.

Bad things: You know, that thing about killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. It's going to start feeling like work following the whole thing Channel 4, you useless cretinous morons.

They also have a good 'Viewing Room' over there where they have links to clips of DOND and related gameshows from all over the world :-D

I will watch the 8pm one when England isn't playing.

Also just incase no one knows. DOND this Saturday is at 5:50 pm as Dr. Who is on at 7:00 pm and its safe to say Dr. Who would most probably crush DOND in the ratings.

I can see why Channel4 are doing this as it will attract the viewers that are not interested in the football, so Channel4 will be able to attract the floating viewers that are not tuned into BBC1 or ITV.

As said in the piece quoted by neefs the worry is that they could be killing the goose that lays the golden eggs.

Noel did actually comment on this very thing when he did an interview on Des & Mel ( OK-waiting for the comments now about me watching Des&Mel!!!! :-D ). He was amazed at the incredible success of the show but was very worried that if handled wrongly it could affect the show in the longer term with too much over-kill, as Noel experienced with 'The House Party'.

Thats my worry - the contestants will be flying by so fast that we won't have the chance to get to know them !!

Unless they have seperate sets - but I can't see that working !!

WOOHOO! That's great news! I do so love it twice a day!  :-D

That's right about the contestants though- they'll be flying past us.

Nice find, Neefs! :D

Twice a day is overkill. If Dungeon Master Treguard was here, he'd be saying "Warning, Team!" right about now.

Putting it up against the World Cup too. Troublesome for those without Sky+ et al (like me).

But it's Endernol. They never know when to quit.
