Rumours are beginning to solidify into fact that DOND has secured at least a guaranteed three more years. I've now heard it solidly from a number of sources as well as seeing similar stuff on sites elsewhere.

Also a few very solid sources say they have also signed some kind of crossover deal with the national lottery. Must be promotions or scratchcards though; can't be TV?!?

oh dear. DoND will just get worse and worse and worse with every year - just like every other show Edmonds has had ANY part in. Shame, should've stopped about christmas this year[dec.2007]

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

What exactly is a solid source? Some guy you've just met down the pub named Barry?

Anybody can start a DOND rumour. That doesn't make it true.

Any crossover with the National Lottery would seem to imply that DOND would have to move over to the BBC, and I can't see that one happening in the near future. I know Noel kissed and made up with them a bit last year on the National Lottery special, but there's still a lot of history between Noel and the Beeb. Personally, I'm quite sceptical on all this. How the hell can you crossover with the National Lottery - invent a North and South Wing and increase the number of boxes and contestants to 49 to tie in with the number of balls in the lottery ??? God only knows what the board would look like with 49 amounts on it!! :smt077

And as for scratchcards, the show is still in a deal with "The Sun" aren't they? :?

I heard rumours of a three year extension back in February but took it as a pinch of salt and didn't bother posting it,

Regarding The National Lottery. The show will bound to stay on Channel 4 but I suspect the lottery will sponsor their sratchcards for the show. Remember. Gameshow Marathon on ITV is currently being sponsored by lottery scratchcards at the moment. It's worth noting that the deal with BT will end this Monday, unless they've renewed it.

Hmmm...

Endemol and Camelot (the Lottery People) do have some kind of history together:

You might not be far off the mark. There's already an online National Lottery Deal or No Deal game isn't there... :? :ponder:
