There seems to be so many negative veiws on DOND, Noel, the contestants, the boxes, the offers, the banker, the tactics-ANYTHING seems to get a grilling on here.

Sure, little things will annoy the best of us, but if you've stopped liking maybe stopping watching it is the best solution?

This probably sounds nasty, but it's more of a topic of debate...what do you think? What changes could be made that would make everyone happy? Or should we face up that there's no way it can please everyone? Maybe it's just that I only really picked it up December O6 (after watching in march 06 I forgot about it) that I don't miss the old way that it worked...

I think there's a few factors at work here. The novelty has obviously worn off for those of us who have been watching for over a year, a few things have gradually changed or been overdone, most of the gameplay possibilities have now been seen, and everyone thinks back to an apparent golden age of around 12 months ago - which probably wasn't quite as great as we all remember it but seems like it now, helped by the Classic repeat shows and the "One Year Since" thread etc!

And I suppose most fan sites on the internet are probably a bit the same way, they spend half the time slagging off the TV show/band/sports team etc. they are there to discuss, simply because it can never be as good as it was when the people first got into the subject in question! But they obviously still care about it because they still turn up and post.

I'm personally happy with it, as it's not changed much as when I first got really into it (I think Ingerlise's game was the first I saw, funny how as I started watching again, the 250,000 kept coming to the table *shrug*)

I agree with you George. If someone read some of the topics here they would think it was a DOND hate site, not a fan site. It seems everyone hates Noel and the things he does and says, they hate the format, they hate the offers, they hate the bankers, they hate the wings, they hate the boxes, they hate the box seals, they hate the pilgrims, they hate the set, they hate the sound effects, they hate the chants...

I particularly disagree with this comment - The format is what makes the show so popular.

There's two sides to everything, including Deal or No Deal. We can't love it all of the time! I don't really care what the boxes look like, or where the players stand! I watch the show because of it's simple format.. It's easy viewing... :smt023

It's a brilliant format. But the gimmicks and chants spoil it a bit.

:) well l still love the show and Noel.l suppose it can get abit monotonous to some people but personally, each show is different, one contestant maybe a little boring but on the whole Noel does try to bring out the best in each person.
l've been watching since the start of DOND and l hope it goes from strength to strength.

I think a lot of people on the forum nowadays started watching DOND quite recently - and whilst there's nothing wrong with that, they haven't seen the elements of DOND that have changed since it first began.

I think it is mainly the people who have watched DOND from the "early days" of the show who are now questioning certain elements - such as Noel's no dealing attitude and so on.

Suggesting that the people who are critical of certain elements of the show should stop watching is a very good point - however, it is quite clear that Endemol do read these forums and maybe act on what is said - hence the showing of classic games on Saturdays, the showing of non-huge money payout classics (Sarah H, for example), and also the recent banning of the blue chanting (in filming terms).

So I think it is very useful for the producers of the show to see what elements of DOND are being discussed and how people are reacting to different things! I think it's excellent that the show is generating such interest and debate on the forum!

I started watching last December and love the show. The format is a winner and I think Noel Edmonds is excellent as presenter. I can't judge on how the show has changed over time but for all its minor faults and foibles I quite like it as it is.

If I had to pick one thing to improve on its the bankers offers. They are too inconsistent with wildly varying amounts for similar boards. Its unfair and ruins the illusion that there is only one banker.

If I had to pick one thing to leave alone it would be Noel's current edgy presentational style. I loathe sugary presenters. Contestants have a golden opportunity to win huge money and should be able to take a bit of stick for the privilege.

It does seem pretty negative on here at times but that is the nature of forums. People who are unhappy tend to write about it whilst those who are satisfied tend not too. Also there are no changes that would make everyone happy. You just can't please everyone.

Noel really irks me at times because he's very one-sided. If somebody deals too early then he really rubs it in that they could have had more (to the point of bullying at times), but if they deal too late and go away with a small sum then at least they 'played it their way' and he doesn't place so much emphasise on what they could have won. I think Noel just sees the offers now as a bit of banter between him and the banker, not to be taken seriously as he wants them all to play to the end.

I agree with it. I think it was today, the blue chants started way too early on for my liking. Any blue chants in the final part of the show are fine for me however as we have the best idea on how the game is going.
