If they ever do another Double Deal week prehaps we will see it there or if they bringback Saturday Primetime Specials. I find it hard to belive that they would wait untill next Xmas to do it again. I would think once the £250,000 has been won again a few times it should be made the new regular top prize so we would then be waiting for the first Half-Millionaire. I would like to see the Half-a-Million brought in for season 3 (dont realy think this will happen) but if this does would they change the gameboard or even add more boxes (something i wouldnt want to see happen although a revamp will have to happen at sometime). It would also allow them to bring them out a new lot of games (although i cant imagin people going out to buy DOND merchandise again (other than us lot.
any opnions on this subject?

Personally, i dont think that the £500,000 should become the new £250,000..that way, its unfair on those who had played before. I mean, wouldnt you feel annoyed if someone had the chance to win half a million when you didnt..?

Every now and then is fine though..

Well it's just like any other game show or competition that has increased its top prize in the past - must have happened in lots of cases. If the show went on so long that £250,000 was only enough to buy a packet of crisps, would it still be right not to increase it because it was "unfair" on those who had played before?

I think the next time we will see it could well be the 500th show...

I think it should and the baord should be bunched up as a £250,000 gap between the two largest amounts is probably too much but as travis said in the chatroom its only a daytime show.

You've just given me an idea, Pat. For a special episode, they could take the 22 best players of all time (needless to say, you'd be one of them) and let them play for a £500,000 top prize.

I'm also calling £500,000 for episode 500. Friday night £500,000 games between eviction-night episodes of Big Brother might work, but when so much of the BB audience is watching 8 Out Of 10 Cats (another Endemol show, note) there's little incentive to change the schedule. (And Cats is on for 30 minutes, DoND in primetime form would be 60... actually, that may be a good thing, keep the captive BB audience for longer.)

I expect regular £250,000 games will go on for years. The prize money is already unheard of for daytime TV - the average win is bigger than the highest daily prize ever offered on a daytime show in the UK pre-DoND. In fact, once you account for tax and currency differences, the UK top prize is close to the US top prize! (Though they have way, way better safety nets and thus significantly bigger average wins.)

I would *beep* hate to see it again. Which means it'll probably be there tomorrow.

Just my opinion but maybe one Saturday prime time special a month with £500,000 would be good. Could be a vote off to see who plays like what happened on the previous £500,000 shows. However it might overkill slightly with new episodes 7 days a week and it may not be what everybody wants.

I'd watch all the same.

I wouldn't complain if Endemol put more money into the contestant's pockets by raising the jackpot! Personally I'd like to see it happen only on special occasions for now though. Show 500 is a good idea to use it, then not again until Christmas. After that, maybe it could be introduced permanently, but I don't think it would make a big difference to ratings unless it is used on an occasional basis.

I wouldn't like to see it become a permanent feature of the show, but I think the occasional show where the jackpot is £500k could work - although only for the 500th show, the anniversary in October, and the Christmas shows at most.
