Does anyone else get irritated by the way that nearly all contestants say: "It's all right, it's all right" when a box is opened to reveal a low red?

It seems that every day they say it with the same tone that implies they're revealing a new fact. If it's that obvious that "it's all right, it's all right" to reveal a low red, why does it need to be said every time?

And why do I get irritated by such trivial things?!

I find that really annoying. Some contestants even say it when the £250,000 is revealed.

Glad it's not just me, then! I just feel like shouting: "I think we've established by now that it is all right to reveal very low reds!" It's the way they say "it's all right, it's all right" as if they're revealing some special wisdom for the first time. God I'm getting furious just writing this!

That's why Jim R was so great! He even was hacked off when £5,000 was revealed! :D

I think what irritates me more is contestants' general reaction to the low reds going as it being "alright" - the low reds are there as useful backup if the game goes wrong, and if I were playing, I'd like to keep them in play - so I wouldn't say it's "alright" to let them go...

That is a good point h2005...it didn't seem allright when the low reds were revealed in Ian's game today. And other games such as Wendy and Hannah, the low reds were essential to them getting reasonable offers.

Yes, exactly - I also think they cheer the high blues going too much in a game when there are very few reds left on the board - I'd certainly be not too happy if £750 went on a board consisting of 1p / 10p / £750 / £1k / £3k for example.

Yes I've never heard them refer to an "honorary red" but there are games when that term would be appropriate!

Strange how they sometimes refer to the "Banker's Power 5" early on in games as if those have much more influence on the game than the other blues (they generally don't) but on the other hand everyone reacts equally positively to the revealing of high blues as they do low blues even on trainwreck boards.

I think that's partly to stop the person who opened the box from feeling bad. I know it's not their fault since all the values are picked at random, but they must feel sort of responsible, and also they may want to keep people's spirits up.

I don't mind it, but i'm getting worried about all these annoyences that are occuring lately.

The blue chant is ok cos that's irritating, but is the show as a whole starting to annoy everyone? Has the star faded?

LOL what i find more puzzling is why people still clap when the 250k or 100k is revealed lol if I was plying and I opened those I would say a word most likely that would have to be edited and if everyone started clapping id turn round and yell SHUT UP CLAPPING Idiots. lol

That's the one reason why I would never be allowed on DOND. I swear far too much.

"Oh, for...I thought you had better in your box than that, Nancy..."

This is another thing that doesn't really bother me...I think it's quite good to just shrug it off and not dwell on the fact that something's gone. Although seeing as practically everything but the £250k appears to be "alright" according to most people, it does seem pretty pointless to keep saying it.

It's never really occurred to me before but there must be some great out-takes where players have sworn when large numbers have been revealed - its only natural after all! I wonder exactly how much has to be re-shot before it's suitable for public viewing?!

I was actually just thinking today about how great it would be to see a behind the scenes documentary. I think it was when Noel asked Steven if he'd picked his box at random, I just thought, how do we know he's telling the truth!
