Sorry if there is already a topic for this.

I think I would probably use Frank (2)'s system, but I thought of a new one earlier.

When you take out an amount on the board, you think of a player who carried that to the table, and open the box in their position.

eg.

Box 1: £10,000.

David J carried that to the table, so you open the box in E8.

E8's box: £5

Gloria carried that to the table, so you open the box in W5.

etc.

I'd pick the player opposite me then keep picking players in pairs so that the boxes left on the wings were symmetrical. If that makes sense. :?

I think I'd just pick randomly, but if I had to have a system, I'd go from the person who comes from furthest North and work my way down to the South of the country. I also liked Dennis's system where he picked the shortest, then the talles and then repeated the process.

My basic strategy would be to remain seated and not wonder about. Also I would ask them not to use the BLUE (and now RED) chant.

As for choosing the boxes I too would just pick at random

I was going to use this system but bottled out at the last minute. As i had already picked one number,my box i thought i would ask Matt to choose the first number .Whoever he chose would choose the next box and so forth.I know it's stupid but when you are in bristol common sense goes out the window.

I would pick some numbers that I wanted to leave to the end so I could be systematic about it when the tension increased, but other than I might just pick them arbitrarily before that. I like contestants like Andy K with their no nonsense approach of just picking the numbers without thinking about it too much.

I'd work from one end of the room to the other, like Geordie! Which way I'd go would depend on whether the person in W1 or E11 had had more high numbers (i.e. I'd have gone West to East when Stevie was there, and the other way when Alasdair was there) :)

Whatever happened, I would definitely want to have a system of pre-chosen numbers before I went, so I couldn't have any regrets about "what if I'd chosen that box instead of that box..." - it also means that if you do deal, then you know that the proveout is accurate in terms of the boxes you'd have chosen (whether the banker's offers are accurate in proveout is another matter! ;))

My system would probably involve me randomly choosing numbers at home before I left (I'm not sure how I'd randomly choose them, but I'd probably think of something quite quirky, like Simon getting his dog to choose the numbers for him!).

As so many people say - once you play your game you often act like a different person, so I may not use my system, but if I did have a system I'd like to think I'd stick to it and wouldn't change it if the game was going wrong - because my luck may change... but if I changed my system the luck may not change and I may keep taking out the big numbers!

Having said all that, it's basically just a matter of luck and chance... but I'd definitely like to have a system of some sort to validate my proveout if I dealt.

My plan involves twenty-two large envelopes each with a number inside. The front row of the audience are then invited in turn to pick an envelope at the beginning of the show. Then beginning at the left of the audience and working right, I'd get each audience member to open their envelope, reveal the number and open the corresponding box (ignoring my own box number of course if and when that was picked in the sequence) and hope that fortune was smiling on me that day. At random then basically, but with a pre-defined sequence so I can look back on it all at the end of the day and say "Yes, that is how I would played it. No regrets."

I also would specifically be wanting to ask the audience to refrain from any kind of chanting and hand-holding rituals! :D

I wouldn't use a system as such, but I would save certain numbers to the end, eg Birthdays, house number etc. I would also write them down in the book at the start of the game so that if I were to deal, everyone will know the boxes I pick post deal would be the same as if I had gone on.

Which contestant was it who based their system on their home phone number?

If I was on the show I wouldnt want a predictable system, I would use a wacky fun unpredictable system, maybe even take in one of those little bingo games.
