No. There is no banker.

In my opinion they have a team of production crew who make the offers according to the player and the current situation. One person from that team then talks to Noel. Obviously this person would be the same everyday.

I don't even think the bankers are famous. As I said - just a random selection of production team.

No we don't need a new banker because we don't even know what the old one looks like or who he is!

By 'new Banker' I think we mean 'new Banker strategy'. And defining it in that way, HELL YES WE NEED ONE.

You appear to be the only one who thinks that way KP!

I think the banker's offers can be ridiculously low at times and be overly generous at others but that is part of the fun of the game. If the offers were too calculated and formulaic the game would become monotonous and predictable.

Variety is acceptable. For one player to get six offers of less than half the mean one day and the next player to get three swaps in a row followed by a cash offer of 94% of the mean... that's just wrong.

Offers should be creative, and the Banker's certainly delivering on that front - but they should also be reasonably consistent (not totally formula-bound, but reasonably consistent), which isn't happening.

The only Banker delivering both on a regular basis right now is the US Banker.

I agree partly with KP on this - I think that the banker's strategies are odd these days, however, I agree with Will that this makes the show more interesting - being able to predict offers the whole time would be boring - at least when the banker is surprisingly generous / mean it makes you think "Why?".

Although, I would like to see Noel and the contestants talk more about the offers - it just seems to be a case of pick up the phone, chat to the banker, throw the phone down and give the offer nowadays - I don't think there's as much talk any more about whether he's being particularly generous or not.

What I do think are a bit stupid are the bankers' swap offers and joke offers - I don't mind his cryptic offers, such as Claudine's £107,031 and Frank's £36,126, but I think his swap and joke offers are stupid - certainly from a statistical point of view, and also partly from a psychological point of view - mostly the joke offers / swaps are to prodive entertainment, rather than play out the psychological battle with the player - possibly with the exception of Craig, where his swap offers were part of such a battle.

To be honest there are obviously different bankers (three I believe) and I think that is what is spoiling the show a bit.

some bankers are really generous and others are pretty mean - so I think if one person was to do it then at least there would be continuity.

I mean Laura had £3k and £250k and was offered £44k - a month or so again there was a guy (okay he had already dealt) but the banker said the offer would have been something like £110 - this is just a mockery of the whole thing.

There should be a standard set and stuck to. :D

there are 3 members of the production crew, the producers, richard hague, richard osman and Glenn hugill, who are the banker. IT IS TRUE.no matter who will disagree with my statement i swear that is true. LAURA WAS OFFERED £45,000!!! there were a lot of guys who would have been offered £110,000.I personally hate all the banker's stupid offers, like £36,126 and £12,500.10 etc etc, why wont he make the offer by judging the game not the player?????????????.I mean, £7,400 after taking out not 1, but 2 of the power 5???1p trevor was offered £1,100 after doing just about exactly the same thing.WHATS THE POINT??!!!

we dont need a new banker, but hugill&co had better start bucking their ideas up, or they will face what could be 3,999,999 instead of 4,000,000 viewers.

i voted no.

also, why the hell cant there be just one man on the line, who makes the offers himself, and judges the board not the player.

Whoever it is, he (or they) provide a lot of entertainment even though I don't like his offers a lot of the time, but that is still his perogative to be unpredictable, I wouldn't want the banker to be changed!

Hahahahahah! I was just watching the start of Mad Sarah's game, and after a decent opening round (£15k and four blues), her "crazy" prediction for the offer is £13,450. These days that's what you actually would get...
