Sorry if this thread is already around.

This offer recently was proving quite influencual - would you take it bearing in mind that some of the boards have been pretty good when this offer is accepted. And most of the time, the game turns out to have been pretty good when it's revealed.
Discuss! :-D

I would say that £20,000 is more of The Banker's trump card. As he has used that amount countless of times, also he usually pitches it at the half-way stage.

It certainly has been extremely influential recently, and Noel has being talking about the £26,000 as an offer to watch out for, as it's a trap... well that's a bit silly, as if it's a good offer for the board, then it should be dealt... and if it was a good offer for the board, then I'd deal and forget about how previous players have not beaten the banker by dealing at £26,000... each game is different!

Recently, 6 players have been offered £26,000.

Leanne, Phil, Bunney, Paul S, Bindya and Susan.

Three dealt at this, (Leanne, Phil and Bindya) and could have had much more. (£52k, £172k and £100k; £55k and £35k; £52k and £75k)

Three no dealt it, and went on to win much more, (£110,000, £28,000 and £42,000).

You should NO DEAL this offer.

It's spooky how many games have had £26k offers that have been a long way short of the peak!

It's completely coincidental - or is it? - that the first third-offer Deal was for £26k and the peak offer was (helped by inflation) almost triple that.

Norma got an OPW a year ago today for £26k, and so too did Jenny in the Peanuts Game.

Mark A took £26k, the peak offer was £45,027 but he had just 10p.

It was with Phil's game that the legend of £26k begun. They had to think of something to distract from the post-Laura nonsense.

To be honest, I'd probably seriously consider dealing at £26k, especially if there was only 1 or 2 values above it. It's a lot of money, a fact that is now very commonly forgotton on DOND.

 The £26,000 strikes again...would have been a horrible ending if Doug had taken it today!

i would no deal £26k if i was offered it at all 6 stages, and a seventh time if he had offered me £26k again instead of a swap.

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.
