If the schedule stays the same, then Show 500 could be aired on Friday 29th June 2007. Should it be different in any way? To celebrate it, they could have a special show aired on Friday night involving a jackpot of £500,000 again, an increased LTL, and perhaps have some hall of famers and reminisce about some of the greatest moments in the history of DOND. Or should it just be a normal show?

I think it would be nice to see a show similar yo the one-year anniversary show last October - whereby everyone is dressed up, there are gold boxes for extra effect, and there are one or two simple extras - such as prizes for the audience if the 1p is found in the first round, which added a great atmosphere to the show.

A Hall of Fame would be good - perhaps inviting back quite a few past contestants and showing video clips. Perhaps it's possible that the show could be 2 hours long, with 1 hour being the actual show, and the next hour being a highlights show, or maybe even a documentary of some sort including interviews with contestants, Noel, the production crew, members of this forum   and the banker himself?

It also has to be remembered that the end of June may well be after a double deal week (bearing in mind they had a double deal week in mid-June last year, although this was supposedly to proivde alternative viewing to the football and there is no football this year - so will there be another double deal week?!). Maybe they could have a 500th show extravaganza and not do a double deal week?

I'm not sure I'd be too keen on the idea of a £500k special though - I think that should be reserved for Christmas and possibly the 2nd anniversary show coming in October.

They didn't do anything special on the 100th show.
They didn't do anything special on the 200th show.
They didn't do anything special on the 300th show.
I doubt they are going to do anything special on the 400th show either, so why should the 500th show be any different? What's great about 500? :?

Because 500 does tend to be a landmark in this sort of thing... and it's also an excuse for them to bump up the LTL amounts, increase the top jackpot for the player to £500k, and introduce other stuff to pull in the viewers...

Actually yes, they probably will bump up the jackpot - 500th show - top prize of £500k - how could they possibly resist? :?

I personally want the top prize to be £250k on the 500th show... I think it should never be increased, for reasons I've given in threads about the jackpot being increased for special occasions...

I don't want them to do anything special either. But the likelihood is that they'll do so many "special" things over the next few months that I might not be watching by the 500th show. :?

If I remember correctly, Noel made quite a big deal of the 250th show.

He did, actually, and there were some people on the forum suggesting it was fixed - Nev (who played on that day)'s lucky box, box 5, was left until the final 2 and it had £250k in it, and I think he said he'd have swapped at the end for his lucky box... and he'd have won £250k. Unfortunately, he dealt too soon. Just as well, otherwise there'd have been even more "fix" accusations flying about. :? I wonder if the £500k (assuming that's the jackpot on the 500th show) will be in the lucky number box of the person playing on that day? :?

If it does I'll stop watching.

It won't be long until they up the jackpot again. I have no desire to see it go up to £500,000.

I have no doubt the 500th show will be a "spectacular" and Noel will go on about week after week. As soon as the ratings drop, they'll put their backup plan into place. That probably involves more "specials" and a new jackpot at some point in the future

The 500th show will be played for £500k, the offers will be similar to the £250k games, the £500k will be won, and within six months DoND will not be on Channel 4. (Note that wording. ITV might buy it.)

Oh, dear, hell, no, they might skip a Sunday show so the 500th show is a primetime special at 8:30pm that night in between BB eviction shows...

Having the 500th DOND slotted in between the 2 BB shows on a Friday evening is an option that Channel 4 and Endemol probably can't resist... I'm not sure it would be such a good thing though - slotted in between two BB shows! :?

I would imagine that your average punter watching the show is not going to either know or care that the show has reached 500 unless Noel tells them! We only know because we're sad enough to be counting them! ;) And judging by the comments above, we don't seem too bothered about it either so I reckon they should just have a normal show (but I bet you a packet of Wine Gums that they don't... )
