Which contestants have had catchphrases, and what have they been?

Here's a few to start the list off...

Lofty may have been the first with "Come on!".

There was Stevie with "Keep goin'! Keep goin'!"

Louise (2) (from June) with "Whack out the blues!".

Jeff King with "Break a leg!".

Harry with "Tax-free!".

Bunney with "Bunney blue", "Bunney bonanza", "Jolly Dee" and "Sweetie".

Gloria seems to have also adopted "Break a leg!".

I'm sure those are the main ones, but can anyone think of any others?

I think the first 'contestant catchphrase' started with Len. In sweeps he'd always say "I'm a coward, Deal" or "Still a coward, Deal"...except in one show where he said he'd actually No Deal! And I've completely forgotten which.

Lofty didn't invent "Come on", it had been used as far back as Andy K, and it was fairly common by March, as I remember thinking how often it had been used lately during Lucy's game (who said it a lot). But yeah, after Lofty you had about a month of practically every single contestant saying it.

Gentleman James said "Can we start again?", although it isn't really a catchphrase as he only said it once...though both Bob and Lucy then copied him, and then someone else (Valerie?) said it in October.

Well, to be fair...she's said it once. Jeff didn't invent the phrase; she could just have been using it normally!

I think Roy's would have to be "This is my xth show, and I've got Box x, so I hope that means something"...I know it's not a particlarly snappy catchphrase, but he said it often enough...

Ooh, and I know it's not really *his* catchphrase, as Noel always said it, but didn't the original Jim have a special speech for every time he opened his box? (Which John G then appropriated... )

I can't remeber his name but there was a guy who always said 'it's tax free'.

During my time on the West Wing, I did try to come up with a good catchphrase but failed!! No-one can better Bunney at the moment!
xx

I think Pat G was one of the first to say "I'm going all the way" during her game. The ploy worked as the banker gave her high offers and she dealt at the 5 box stage! :D Some contestants may well have repeated that catchphrase in the chair but the banker has got wise to it and called their bluff on a number of occasions.

Hahah, Pat G and Noel had a sort of catchconversation that they had a few times...

"You're looking rather flamboyant today Pat, are you in a flamboyant mood?"
"I'm always in a flamboyant mood, Noel!"

"You're looking rather colourful today Pat, are you in a colourful mood?"
"I'm always in a colourful mood, Noel!"

Aww I miss Pat G.

Ooh, and I can't believe I forgot this one - "I hope you f...f...f...fulfil your dreams"!

Lucy's catchphrase was words along the lines of "Follow your heart, think what the money means to you", which also made it onto her poem from the banker and the DVD when you ask her for advice.

Morris didn't have a catchprhase per se, but more a "trademark" - those poems - pretty much like Bunney and his naff songs.

As has been discussed in another thread, these shows were recorded a few weeks after Jeff King's shows were aired! I bet we'll be seeing some more leg breaking action to come yet... and no, Jeff didn't invent the phrase, but he was the first contestant to regularly use it on DOND!

Anita had a quote that deserved to become a catchphrase - 'Shall I think about it for a nanosecond?'. (In fairness, that was after an 'incredible' £2,900 opening offer on a board that would now produce an opening offer of £12,900 at least...)

Then there was Mike's 'Think blue. THINK IT!' which deserved to be a catchphrase too, and was the only tolerable part of the second blatantly unfair game in succession to start March 2006.

Not really a catchphrase, but Ned was always renouned for saying "It's only x% of whats on the board"! :)

What was the original Jim's speech all about?

Not really a catchprase but Sarah's "If I take away the pound, the Banker is unable to calculate the offers!" Best quote ever.

I don't remember him having a verbal catchphrase, but Noel (I think) did make a big thing of the manner in which he opened his box every day.
