Channel 4 announced a while ago that Deal or No Deal would be put in a prime time spot on a saturday but did not say what time.

Over the past few weeks they slowly been pushing the start times back and this week has been the latest start at 18:15.

On Saturday Noel did a radio interview with Jonathon Ross, I've put a link to this interview that you can listen to in another post.

In the interview Noel is talking about the popularity of the show and talks about the show going to a primetime slot on a Saturday. He reveals that it going to go out at 19:00 in a couple of weeks and also that the format of the show is going to remain exactly the same.

The key sign of whether this is a hit or not isn't just the figures for DoND itself, but whether it hits Dancing on Ice, which has been getting nine million viewers thanks to weak opposition on the BBC (Millionaire Manor, anyone?)...

I can see DoND going up to four million or more, and more to the point I can see it hitting Dancing on Ice. I hope it does, anyway

Well, if it moves to 7pm it will have my viewing, well to be honest I sky+ each show and we watch the show after the baby has gone to bed, the dogs walked and fed, tea made and eaten, wife washed her hair.....so it's usually around 10pm !!, which is our Primetime....

Thank goodness for Sky +.... :D

It could be a shocker when it hits prime time. Just look at Doctor Who that was expected to get 3 Million viewers on the first show and it claimed 10.9 Million.

Yeah, it massively exceeded expectations for the daytime slot it got, I think it could do the same for Saturday primetime.

Here is a link to a gaurdian interview with Noel in which most DoND bases are covered. It's an interesting read.

That was a very interesting article indeed and it went into lots of detail. Noel's comments about the 1p Club made me laugh!

:D
