There has been discussion recently about the success of Deal Or No Deal on Sundays as compared with Saturday evening. So a simple question, assuming that we can't have DOND every day of the week (excluding repeats), would you prefer to watch a brand new DOND show each week on Saturday evening (primetime) or Sunday? We are not talking about repeats here.

Id prefer to have a Satuday night prime time show like we used to have, and a series of classic games repeated on a sunday!

I voted Sunday, as I wouldn't like to have it on at the 4 - 6pm slot on Saturdays. I wouldn't mind it being on Saturday evening, but then it would start edging towards X Factor / Strictly Come Dancing / Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway / Dancing On Ice / Robin Hood / Doctor Who territory - all of those programmes bringing huge ratings - and I don't think DOND would cope up against them (look at the viewing figures DOND got on 25/12 when it was directly up against Doctor Who). Programmes such as X Factor now seem to be often starting as early as 5 / 6pm, meaning DOND would have to be on way before then to ensure good ratings.

I think Sunday is the best place for it - there isn't much on at the time for DOND to have competition with, meaning the ratings wouldn't be as bad as on a Saturday evening. However, what they do need to do is make sure it has the same time slot on Sundays... it had settled in the 5:50 / 5:55 slot, but now it seems to be hovering around the 4:45 / 5:00 mark - it's not the best way of ensuring they get maximum viewers - I bet a lot of people have or will miss at least parts of the Sunday episodes due to their roving Sunday schedule.

I'd prefer Saturday...Sunday evening is normally my "mad rush to get an English essay finished (or started  )" time, so having DOND in the middle of it just makes that even harder...

I really liked the Saturday evening prime time shows they did (Sam to JT, I think)...having it on then gave it a good atmosphere and made it feel like more of an "event". Ideally I'd like those back.

The 1 hour long Saturday primetime editions were quite good, although they did feel as though they were dragging at times. The 1 hour long specials during Double Deal Week in June worked well, as they had the extra Hall of Fame element... maybe they could incorporate that into Saturday primetime shows?! But like I said in an earlier post, DOND would never survive on most Saturday nights, when other ratings machines, such as X Factor, are out there. :(

Scrap both weekend shows and have a second Friday show at 8:30pm. The Sunday evening shows are fading to the point where Frank's game beat Laura's in the ratings, and that should be the absolute giveaway for Channel 4 that this slot isn't working. Saturdays, as discussed above, are now a key battleground that Channel 4 must stay away from (presumably by airing documentaries that will attract a completely different audience). Friday at 8:30 is a perfectly good primetime slot but with may-as-well-be-zero competition...

...except ITV have moved Midsomer Murders to Friday from Sunday.

Sunday it needs to be, then. But keep it at 6pm.

Or maybe they should just scrap the weekend shows altogether. I bet there are many people who can watch it during the week, but can't watch it at the weekend, and if they can't get a repeat of it, then they miss 1 show a week. To be honest, when DOND first started, I was quite surprised it was on Saturdays as well, as it'd be on six days a week... then Countdown started doing it, then they stopped a few months later.

Personally, I like having it on Sundays, but if reducing the number of shows from 6 per week to 5 per week means the show will have a longer run overall, then I think they should definitely scrap the weekend shows altogether...

I voted for Sunday for similar reasons to what h said, but whether they keep it on Sundays or move it to Saturdays or even have the 2nd show on Friday evening as KP suggested, I think they do need to think about raising the jackpot for that one show a week. It will create the hype and interest to ensure higher viewing figures at the weekend. Something needs to stand out about the weekend show that makes it distinctively different to the weekday Mon-Fri 4.15 shows, and just making it longer wouldn't work. It may seem unfair that one contestant would get the benefits of the higher jackpot but look at the Christmas shows, and the fact that some contestants get 1p in their box and others £250,000! If they can't raise the jackpot for that weekend show, then maybe Noel would have to wear his pink fluffy slippers instead! :-D

Sunday for me, I'm often out on a Saturday night and end up watching it on Sunday anyway! :D

Definitely stay away from Saturdays for reasons already mentioned. Personally I would be happy with DOND being just 5 shows a week if it means the overall run of the show is extended further - anything so that we don't reach overkill and tire of the show.

But if it remains at six shows per week then as said, keep it to a regular time slot on Sundays, say 5.50, 6pm or even 4.15pm !!!!, so that everyone knows when to expect it!

So far people are really divided about this one with 33.3% voting for Saturday, 33.3% voting for Sunday, and 33.3% not bothered either way!

I voted Sunday because I kept forgetting it was on on Saturday nights and missing it, or realising too late and only catching the end. I forgot about the Saturday episode one week and missed Marcus's game. I was gutted! I've still never seen that episode.
