Now that someone has won the £250,000 and very courageously as well, do you think that it will alter the way contestants approach the game. Will they gamble more deep into the game? Will the banker's tactics change?

The Banker's tactics HAVE to change. Now that the publicity and extra advertising revenue from today's game is locked in, there is no extraneous 'get the viewers in' element to the Banker's play - he has to play it straight to minimise prize money.

However, I have a horrid feeling the shows recorded post-Laura were built around the assumption that another £250k win would produce another spike in the ratings...

As for contestant decisions, that will depend upon a number of factors, not the least of which is Noel - his 'courage' monologues have almost certainly sent some players further than they would have expected with varying results, but will they cease now they have produced the desired outcome, or will the first one make Noel hungry for more?

To be honest, I think the fact that the £250k has now been won will either make players think, at the 5-box stage with the £250k left on the board for example, "It's been done before, so it's not so special, so I'll deal" or "It's been won before, so it could be done again". I think those two cancel each other out, so there may be no noticeable difference in the players!

However, the banker's tactics and Noel's (and obviously the production team's as well) will undoubtedly change - will we see low opening offers once again, as we did back in 2005? Or, will they think that the banker's, Noel's and the production team's new tactics are working and will produce another £250k win, so they should stay the same? I guess we will find out from tomorrow!

I'll make one prediction - tomorrow's first phone call will see the Banker going on about how he's going to be meaner, and the first offer will be an absolute joke....

Yes, I thought that too - what's the betting that it'll be an abrupt phone call, the first offer will be "£2.50" with nothing in front... then all the offers will end in £250 and Noel can say... "He really is meaner! He's offering you £250" *Noel looks serious and waits 15 seconds* "With 2 thousand in front!"... then "6 thousand in front" at the 3rd offer, or whatever.

Hahaha you read my mind!

I was half expecting him to ring back after Laura won and the fact he didn't means he will be doubly evil tomorrow.. surely!! :P

He will either be evil or have a new found respect for contestants as he got Laura so wrong!! Another reason to love Laura soo much!!

Yes, it was very rude of him not to phone back and congratulate Laura! I honestly thought that on the first ever £250k win, he'd at least phone back and say nothing except "Well done" and throw the phone down begrudgingly...
