Iam not sure if the amount that is picked is raddom, beacause on new years eve the 250k box was on the table, and the amount the banker was offering i know that in my head he was trying to get alfie to say no deal and go to the end, but he did not which was a shame.

yes because the independent adjudicator who we never see nor hear of uses a random number generator to seal the amounts in the boxes. She probably uses random.org, a website which is publicly accessible by the way.

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

No, they used to use Microsoft Excel to generate the random numbers used in DOND, but that proved not to be so random during Sequencegate. Since then, they have used balls in a bag to choose the random numbers - i.e. picking balls out of a bag with the numbers on.

The balls would have 1 - 22 on them...

So when they load the boxes, they start with 1p, pull a ball out of the bag and the number of that ball is the number of the box that 1p will go in. They then do the same for 10p, etc... and the next show, I'd imagine they might start with £250k, £100k, etc...

When the players are allocated boxes, the bag is passed around the wings, they pull a ball out and the number the ball has is the number of the box they will have. Sometimes they start at the end of the east wing, sometimes at the end of the west wing.

That is how I think it works...
