There's always someone whose game I want to see. I'd probably have stopped watching ages ago if it weren't for the people on the wings, and probably won't be able to stop unless they either get rid of that element, or somehow manage to find 22 absolute non-entities.

I've always enjoyed stats and probability, always been a fan of Noel Edmonds, so great game, great presenter, plenty of excitement, emotion, and entertainment. Result-completely addictive! :D

I enjoy DOND because of:

The statistics side of things (patterns, probablilities, data, etc.).

The psychological battle between the banker and the player.

Noel Edmonds (I've always been a fan of him - I grew up with him in a way, what with House Party being on when I was a young child).

The entertainment that humorous contestants (and Noel, and sometimes the audience) provide.

The emotions of DOND - happy, sad, exciting, tense, amazing, thrilling, etc...

Judging what the banker's offer should be.

Judging whether or not the player's made the right decision.

Judging what I would do in the same situation.

How it's so different to any other gameshow.

The fact that it's not flashy and trashy like some gameshows.

The fact that it involves 22 people who get to be on the show for a length of time.

The fact that the 22 on the wings are just ordinary people.

Because I enjoy seeing the different personaliitys of the players evolve over their time in the wings.

Love looking at Noel

Love the excitement and the stress of waiting to see what everyone wins

I watch Deal or No Deal because it comes on after Countdown and I'm too lazy to use the remote.

It was a fascinating game of psychology and economic theory. Note the use of the past tense there. Now it's become little more than 45 minutes of watching someone play a slot machine with Noel urging the player to put another 50p in - except it's not 50p coins but tens of thousands of pounds.

It was quite nice to see Noel actually agreeing with Daniel that he'd made the right decision - very unlike the Noel we've got used to in the past few months! Hopefully Noel has now stopped his guilt trips he takes people on when they deal too early...

Actually, he seemed to be fighting himself, saying one thing then another... he still went on and on about the £250,000 before it was revealed, along with the £75,000 offer (which he mentioned like it was somehow massive, and not the clear No Deal I considered it to be!).

If that had been the US show, then ignoring the differences in format, it would have gone like this:

* Daniel decides to Deal.
* Host goes 'Had you said No Deal, where would you have gone?'
* Daniel picks boxes and has each one revealed.
* Host goes 'and the offer would have been...'
* Offer appears on screen (or in this case, spoken out loud but relatively neutrally)
* Host goes 'One of these boxes contains £20,000. One of these boxes contains £250,000. You sold your box for £24,500. Did you make a good deal? You made...' Box is opened... '...not such a good deal.'
* Crowd groans.
* Host goes 'It's OK, £24,500 is still a lot of money' or similar.

If our version did that I'd still be watching it.

What do they do on the US version if someone takes a Madie/John G-like gamble, and ends up with peanuts? I think I saw one clip where some woman was left with $1, $5 and $300,000 and turned down something like $80,000 which is just a no-brainer deal to me. I couldn't remember what happeened at the end due to be being in stitches, thinking "serves you right you greedy so and so"!!!! :)

That was Cheryl Jackson, who then duly hit $300,000. The end of her game was a bit rushed, with the $2 final offer played for comedy a bit (someone in the crowd shouted 'TAKE THE DEAL!'), and they rushed through it a bit (that time the swap option was made available, but it isn't in ugly games now). Howie just seemed a bit stunned, but rushes through such an ending, keeping roughly to a script.

Sometimes there are some genuine comedy trainwrecks, usually when the player never had a shot at the mega money. The first 2007 game was a classic example - at one point Howie pretended he couldn't bear to speak to the Banker and asked the contestant to pick up the phone! (This was made even better by the on-screen caption, in the same style as the probability captions they throw up from time to time; 'THE ODDS ARE TOMMY WILL NEVER WEAR ORANGE AGAIN'.)

For the contestants; that's the only thing that makes the show interesting for me, and I supose its something to fill up the slot in my day when I come home from school and am waiting for my tea.
