This is one thing i dont understand about the show. When the contestant is on picked out on the show how come they always seem to have the members of there family in the audience. They must be told before that there going to be picked out cause there not going to go down to every filming surely. Also the way there picked out should be changed to balls like the lottery and not this computer thing which in my opinion is a fix. I also think the banker knows whats in the boxes for sure.

No, it's not random at all. The production team select the players for each day, which is why most people tend to do around 22 shows. They don't always have people in the audience; sometimes people have played just after their family have left, for example. They've never actually said it's random.

There is a fifteen minute filming break between when the contestant's name is called and when they take the walk of wealth. In this fifteen minute break, they move the contestant's relatives and / or friends to where the friends / relatives normally sit in the audience. During this time, they also add extra make up to the contestant, give them a microphone, get them a drink, calm them down, etc.

So its not random i knew that. So therefore they know the amount of money in the contestants box when it comes to the table. Makes the game a farce so. As they can pick the amount they want each time.

They choose who is going to play before the independent adjudicator loads the money in the boxes as far as I know... and anyway, the independent adjuicator is there for that very reason - to ensure that the production crew don't find out what's in the boxes...

Well...no, the independent adjudicator is supposedly the only person who knows what's in the boxes. Also, the players are apparently picked in advance, before they even choose their boxes. I know that there's absolutely no way of proving either of those things, though, so I guess you still have room to be sceptical...

No one but the independant audojicater knows whats in the boxes, and he does not pick who is to play on that day.

Surely if the crew knew what was going to be in the contestant's box, would they really have had such a long run of the £250k not being on the table? If they knew what box the contestant would have, judging by how much they want a £250k win, I doubt they'd ensure the £250k stayed away from the table for so long... which sort of proves really that they don't know what's in the boxes!

So following that reasoning H2, it's the crew rather than producers or Channel 4 who would control the outcome of any given game. I'm not convinced that this reasoning is sound. Have you seen the way the adjudicator oversees the way amounts are allocated to specific box numbers? Surely your comments are speculative rather than factual........unless of course you are really the adjudicator :D

Haha, yes, when I said "crew" I meant producers. What I was saying was is that if it was fixed, I doubt they'd fix it so that the £250k would be absent for so long. Therefore, I think it is all totally random!

And no, I'm not the independent adjudicator. ;)

Well IF it was fixed somehow with certain amounts being in certain boxes the game itself is still random and it's up to you when you're playing what numbers to choose and also when the banker offers a swap at the start or end of the game you could actually swap away a low number for the £250,000 or high for low. So it's still just the lucj of the draw.

Also personally I think that it is done randomly and the woman adjudicator is the only one who knows (I don't know if there's just one adjudicator but I remember Noel saying last week it was a woman).

The player is known by only a couple of crew members before the game is recorded..... But it CAN and has changed last second!

The chosen contestant has been selected by the crew and Noel is probably aware, before we pick our random box.

We, the contestants, try our hardest to guess who's going to be picked by trying to guess who has the best top/tie on, who's got the best make-up, who the camera might be pointing at, but we NEVER get it right...

The contestants have NO idea who is going to be picked.... And once you've done your first show it really could be anytime!

They will one day, I am sure, throw a complete wild card in and have someone go up to the chair on their first show!!!

And, H2005 we don't get a drink when we go out the back for our microphone. We rush to have a microphone on, quick talking to to calm us down and a quick dab of make up! It takes about 5 mins!

Sorry, I meant they get a drink for you - they put the kettle on and make you a cup of tea for you to drink during the show, don't they? ;) An ex-contestant said on here a few months back that the break is 15 minutes, so it looks like the schedule is even tighter now if it's been reduced to 5 minutes! :?

Oh sorry and about friends/family in the audience.

They are usually there for the duration of the players games. They can have one friend/family member stay with them in the hotel for the duration of the time they are in Bristol.

Their friend/family then comes down for every show, if they want.... There are future contestants Mums/Wives/Hubby's/Friends in the audience at the moment and they are sometimes shown on camera but you of course forget you've seen them once that contestant is in the chair.

I had five people in the audience for three of my shows and was then picked to be a contestant when I had just one, lol
