Could anyone tell me the statistical likelihood of the £250k getting into the player's box as often as it has since Daz's show? Because it seems to be happening frequently. It may well be a coincidence, but cynics might disagree and say its being planted there at regular intervals in the hope someone gets the big one soon, to improve ratings?!

I was assume the odds are 1/22 per day, and so *technically* it should show up once a month. It's all random though....maybe :o

Apparently it's been in there 6 times out of 126 - 1 in 21, which is about what you would expect.

It does seem to have been there a lot lately, but I don't think there's any kind of conspiracy - nobody complains about the fact that only one person so far has had the £1,000, even though that seems far less likely to me.

But the producers know that a £250k win would be an amazing show, and so it should rightly look suspicious if it turned up too frequently...(not that I'm insinuating it has!)

I feel sorry for whomever plays tomorrow *ahem* the chances of it being in there 2 days in a row must be pretty small!

Isn't it a 1 in 22 chance? Whatever's in tomorrow's box isn't affected at all by what was in there today, so surely the chance is the same as it would be any other day?

you're right there. i thought that having it in the box twice in a row would be 1 in 22 to the power of 2 (484). :?

Hmm...that sounds right...OK I'm confusing myself here.

The chance that it's in the box 2 days running is 1 in 484. However, now that we know it's already been in it once, the chance is 1 in 22. Is that right? One of the stats people please help me out!

Yes, that's right I think.

The chances that it appears at anytime is 1:22.

The chances that it appears twice in a row is 1:484

But since we know it definately has happened once, tomorrows chance is 1:22, as daniel said.

I think anyway, bushy help us :-D
