Yes, this is in DOND general discussion and not the TV films music board because the Swap Shop 30 year anniversary special one-off episode tonight at 9pm on BBC 2, It Started With Swap Shop, is starring, amongst others, Noel himself and a load of ex-DOND contestants... and maybe one or two people from this very forum itself! ;)

This will bring me back to my childhood Saturday mornings, I guess for others an opportunity to peep into the mists of time well before you were born and see Noel, 70s style, the hippest children's presenter and Radio 1 DJ of the time! :D

Yes, I love seeing old clips of Noel... I may not have been around then to view them first time ( :( ) but at least I can watch them now! ;)

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

It wasnt mainly about Swap Shop, it was about Saturday morning childrens television, and how its still going strong 30 years on. Also Swap Shop was a great show from the clips I have seen.

Yes, it was a great programme, with loads of vintage clips of Noel - like I said earlier in this thread, Swap Shop was before my time... it ended 5 years before I was born in fact  :( , so I never got the chance to see it when it was on first time. So it was nice to see Noel and the team back together again, albeit for one night, and I also imagine it served as a nice trip down memory road for certain forum members who are, how can I put it, older than me! ;)

My Sky + only caugt half of it, but it was great. Trevor & Simon, Live & Kicking, must have been a great show to go to. And Noel of course!

Cos a lot of people enjoy remembering shows they enjoyed from their childhood, and some people who weren't around to watch it when it first came out might have found the evolution of Saturday mornings kids TV interesting.

Yep, exactly, I think that now Noel is back in the TV limelight, the Swap Shop reunion programme last night generated more interest than it would have done had he still been away from TV - as people who have got to know him better watching DOND probably watched last night out of curiosity! :D

 Noel has done quite a few programmes over the years, but he has being the star of two which changed the shape of TV.

Swap Shop changed Saturday morning TV for ever. And a great programme it was too!

Then we had The Late Late Breakfast Show which again changed Saturday evening TV until it finished due to the sad death of a contestant.
