My brother is in Oz at the moment, and is a massive fan of their show. He told me about all the gimmicks they have, a booyah box, the double or nothing, the special 'cases'.

I told him we have 22 people opening boxes, no 'gimmicks', except maybe one, and the thing that makes our show so great.

The fact that one player is replaced by another lets you care for them.

That is the simple brilliance of our format.

In theory, we also have a 'BOOYEAH' box but the audience only reacted to it for the first few shows.

I agree that is the thing that makes the show what it is. The game itself is a great concept as shown by its success worldwide, but the fact that in our version you get to watch the contestants on screen for 3 or 4 weeks before they play, and develop your own favourites and always want to see who plays next, sets it apart from any other game show.

In terms of the gameplay itself, the best part of the UK format is the fact that a player no-dealing with 5 boxes to go has to take out 3 of the remaining boxes before the next offer - this produces some really exciting games where almost anything is possible if they play on at that stage.

Deffo. That was what my brother couldn't believe after being raised on the 'safer' version of the game.
