I think this subject had been touched on before, but I was wondering that if you could pick a line up of 6 ex-contestants to have a second chance at the game, who would they be?

I was having this discussion with KP about a month ago after £10 Steve's game, about how unreasonable his offer of £1,200 with £50k still on the board was!

I'll try to keep it down to people who won very small amounts and were screwed over by the banker!

OK, so:

1p Trevor and £1 Mike are dead-certs - the height of Sequencegate, and neither of them got a reasonable offer, so were virtually forced to take their box. I mean Mike got offered barely a grand at the halfway stage with 3 of the Power 5 still there!

Sharron is in as well. She never had a reasonable get out offer either. Everyone talks about the final offer of three grand, but her offer at the deal of 8 - £3,131 with £75k and £20k still there was also insulting - Adam was offered £9k not long after on the same board (and he had £20k against Sharron's 1p...hmmmmm). :(

£1 Barbara is my next choice - a 5th offer of £8k with £75k and £35k still there is about half what you'd reasonably expect (yes, its insulting), so she was forced on I feel!

Two more members of the 1p club are my final two choices: Fadil and Giorgio - neither of them got what I thought was a reasonable offer, and they were both favourite contestants of mine, and deserved a lot more. There seemed an air of inevitability around their games too for an odd reason!

The other remaining members of the 1p club don't make it becuase I feel they all had reasonable get-out offers (especially Connell and Sally), but they chose not to take them. Indeed all Connell had to say was "No Swap".

I'd have picked Geordie but for him openly saying he wouldn't want to!

And while £10 Steve's 5th offer was ridiculously now, his 3rd and 4th offers were reasonable on a very volatile board, and walking money for a slightly more cautious person, so he doesn't make it either!

So for me it's:

Trevor
Mike
Barbara
Fadil
Giorgio
Sharron

I agree on all but Barbara's 8k, I thought it was reasonable.

And also, Sharron's final offer was £2,0000, not £3,000.

I wouldn't include Dave E either, he took it well, and I don't think he was too bothered.

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

Finlay and Hannah won £10,000, so I don't think they need another go. And Gary Conrad won £15,000!

Hmmm, I think I'd go for:

Irene
Alan (1)
Tracey
Emi
David (4)
Sue (2)

There are probably others whom I've missed out, but they stand out to me as six people who just had rubbish games and never really got a serious chance to win anything decent. I think that's the worst possible kind of game to have.

WHAT ABOUT KEN? He had a peak offer of a measly £3,000.

Yes, Ken as well! Told you I'd have left some out. But basically, anyone who had a *beep*, consistently unlucky game like that. For all 1p Trevor's offer was rubbish, he could have taken it, and must have known it was unlikely that the gamble was going to pay off.

What about Ken? I was considering him as he was a fantasic contestant, and his highest offer was a paltry 3 grand. I thought many have won less than £750 though, but he'd be my 7th choice if there was a saturday show as well. :)

1p Trevor maybe doesn't fall into that category but Mike certainly does. The highest he got offered at a stage where he could have dealt (i.e. not the first offer) was 3 grand, same as Ken. Giorgio too!

Quite frankly, I'd be tempted to give all the people who won £999 and under another go - when DOND first started, I literally couldn't believe that after spending so many shows on the wings, people could have the chance of going away with such low amounts of money - that was before I realised how much of an experience being a contestant on DOND is and how, at least for me, the money would just be a bonus.

It is interesting that for the first 25 shows - no-one went away with £999 or less - in fact, there were quite a few deals around the £3k mark - nowadays, the people who dealt at the low amounts would probably have gone on and either won a lot or won peanuts. There has not been such a long run of £1,000 or above wins since the first 25.

Anyway, in particular, I think I'd like to give 1p Trevor and Pat M another go - but there are loads others I could mention - those two just stuck out in my mind particularly.

From this season:

Howard maybe? And what about Lisa? I was expecting great wins from both of them.
