I must say all this 'best player in each position' voting bewilders me.

I've been watching since last December and the vast majority of games are forgotten within hours. There are quite a few players that stick in my mind like Pyschic Sarah, Laura, Dennis, Doug etc but I havent got the foggiest idea where they stood and quite frankly couldnt care less.

What does it matter where they stood? Its what they contributed on the wings and their game that sticks in my mind.

Plus if several outstanding characters have stood in the same position then only one can go through whilst another position with no decent players can have a non-entity go through.

Surely it would be best to just vote for the most outstanding players so far and the top 22 can just stand anywhere in any position for an 'ultimate' Deal or No Deal show.

Well a lot of people are taking an interest and voting. You've been here a little over a month and most of your posts seem to be negative and dismissive. If a thread doesn't interest you then why don't you just ignore it instead of criticising it.

I'm in broad agreement with the original poster, and I've been watching DOND since the very beginning.

50 shows Lucy might be my favourite contestant, but I couldn't tell you where she stood. I know it was on the end of one of the wings somewhere, but I couldn't tell you which end or which wing, and I'm not really interested in finding out either. As for any of the other contestants, I wouldn't have a clue. Games come and go, and I don't really pay much attention to who stands where. A lot of people on this forum DO though. There ARE some very well-clued up fans on here who could very easily go on "Mastermind" with the specialist subject "The History of Deal or No Deal 2005-2007" and get maximum points with no passes!

I'm not that committed thank god, but there are lots of people on the forum who are. I'm just as bewildered as you, but choose to generally ignore votes like this and don't get involved in the statistics, unless I have a specific DOND question that needs answering, in which case these walking enclyclopedias are very useful indeed!

I don't tend to remember exactly who stands where all the time - can usually name the ones in the four "end" positions and maybe those next to them. But as all the information on who stood where is there on this forum constantly updated by daniel4389 - I just thought these polls would be an interesting thing to do really, and clearly a lot of people agree. We've done favourite players before in a number of different ways, and there was a thread where people posted their individual best 22s based on where they stood, so thought this might give some interesting results!

I'm sorry if you feel slighted by my thread but as someone who has been watching the show for a relatively short time I do find it genuinely bewildering that many people can remember contestants from a long time ago and seem to know where they all stood. I can hardly remember who was on last week.

I never questioned the popularity of the polls. As you said plenty of people are voting. I would vote too except I cant remember where my favorite players stood and would obviously only include recent players.

Well as I said, I'm doing it from the list which is maintained on this forum, not from memory - and I guess most people who are voting are doing the same (though there may be one or two who can remember where every player stood!)

I don't remember exactly where each contestant stood - I could probably tell you where the more memorable contestants stood, roughly, and like Power5, the ones in the four end positions, but apart from that it would be guesswork.

I'd be prepared to bet the house and car that one of them is you though, with the other quite possibly being H!

I have a visual memory, so I can remember where the players roughly stood - like Jeff King near the audience end of the West wing, Margaret in the middle of the west wing, etc. - those are just two examples, but I couldn't tell you the exact positions of many players - except my favourites - let's see - SPIKY PAUL oh yes! W7. Lance - W1. STEVEN. E10. Pat M. E2. Mad Sarah - was she E3?

I can remember some others - mainly the ones at the ends of the wings.
