The banker keeps influencing the contestant to deal by bringing up the family, grandchildren, children, etc. He has done this consistently with contestants that are grandparents. It takes away looking at the board objectively, and plays with the emotions of the contestant, making them feel that they have an obligation to deal otherwise they would be considered selfish. I guess if I was the banker I'd do the same thing though. It's a tactic that has been very successful for him on a number of shows now. :?

Well you could argue he shouldn't do that but it is the banker's job to try and get the person to deal with as little money as possible and I suppose he'll use any tactic he can. Trouble is when he does it makes the person think about what that money could do for their family and then that makes them think they should deal just in case it goes wrong. However as a player you should try and not let that influence you and you should play the game by your own judgement with out the banker bringing in the emotional side to it.

Another way of looking at it is he might be doing them a favour and stopping them from making a 'greed' related mistake. Bringing them back to reality kinda thing.

No. There is no greed in gambling.

Also, the banker is very inconsistent. He is either luring the contestant into dealing, or proving the contestant wrong for dealing in a proveout.

No I don't the banker influenced todays game, I think Noel did. If John had a system he was entitled to play with the system but Noel kept looking at his system and telling everyone. When John dealt he wanted to throw away his system but Noel wouldn't let him, this really annoyed me. Its Johns game and he could play the way he wanted to.

Mmm, same...OK, John may have been deviating from the system that was on his sheet, but it shouldn't be up to Noel to stop him doing that. He should have just let him get on with it.
