I was wondering if you could tell me who this is?

I've been wondering as I've been reading through several threads.

Thanks

JKD

I think the contestant emailed all the sites asking for their details to be removed.

No Charles was another contestant who didn't make it into the chair due to illness (not the same one as the Charles who did play, needless to say). Contestant 14 did play.

Yeah we've had a couple of contestants who've not made it to the chair. Charles was an earlier one, then we had Clive and this week Audrey.

Does anyone know what happened to Clive? I know the other had to leave due to illness.

Hi Maltus,

You'll have to way back to December Maltus! Clive stood between Jenni and Lynsey, and I can't quite recall how many games he opened boxes but it was at least 5.

His final appearance was 20th December in Mary-Ann's game.

Anyone with more information on his duration on the show or what happened to him please add your comments.

After having just watched the very first episode, was it that Asian looking guy, cos I remember Noel calling him **big beep**. I missed his show, buit my Mum told me he was a bit of an idiot.

Am I allowed to mention his name?

I did warn of a spoiler but I will change the text colour to white so you only read it if you want to.

That's not really the point, though. The player did not want the game's details published on the net at all. Revealing something that the player specifically asked not to be revealed, even in spoiler form, doesn't seem to me to be respecting that player's wishes.

Sorry if that seems harsh.

To be fair (again), JKD got an answer that the player didn't want details posted on any web site. It's the second post in this thread.

I'm really not meaning to be argumentative here, but this site has a reputation amongst the players as being friendly towards them. Posting details that a player has specifically asked not be published seems to go against that ideal.

No offence meant.

I don't know any of the precise details as to what player 14 has requested, nor do I know player 14 personally, but I really can't see why the game shouldn't be published (both here and elsewhere).

Player 14 knew what (s)he was getting into when (s)he agreed to go on the show and the show itself is a matter of public record since it was broadcast to an audience of millions on Channel 4. Why (s)he thinks they can prevent people from reporting the freely-available data is beyond me.

It's as if Steve Bruce was so embarrassed by Birmingham's 7-0 defeat last week that he wrote to the BBC website and asked them to take the details down...

Well, obviously Player 14 has no right to stop people reporting the details of their game. I don't imagine that they believe that they do have that right. But it's probably fair to say that, being one of the very early players, they probably didn't quite know how popular the show would become either. So to say that they knew what they were getting into is maybe a little inaccurate, although I do accept it as a general point.

I suppose I'm just of the opinion that the player went to the effort of requesting that sites not publish the information about their game for a reason. Whether that reason is 'valid' is not for the likes of me to judge. As fans of the game, and therefore as fans of the people who play it, it seems a little churlish for us to disrespect a player's wishes unless there's a good reason.

(And yes, I do see the irony of me making a "we should respect the players' wishes" point to one of the actual players...)
