Ive noticed a thread or two about the runup to those infamous auditions, but just wanted one more to say well done and good luck to everyone who made it and got interviewed today. Especially Jim, Gary, Andrew and Zara from Newcastle :D:D;)!

70,000 applied
1,350 were interviewed
230 will appear on the show

:o

And to those of you still waiting on the call - good news - the guy said they just called someone back yesterday who auditioned 9 months ago! So it really can happen at any time. Mr H2005 and friends, they have you on file and fingers crossed you'll be called in with next year's lot.

((Not sure if there are more auditions at a later date, but if so good luck to all you guys too!))

Just wanted to wish everyone good luck too! I was at the audition in Newcastle and forgot to ask when we would hear if we're on, my husband heard some people mentioning it would be about a week before the sucessful one's get a phone call, but I don't know if that's true. Also, do they do second interviews or do they just call you and let you know you're on the show? Just curious :D Best wishes to everyone!!!

I assumed this was the final stage of the selection process, but they might phone up and ask a few more questions if they're still not sure. 1-2 weeks sounds about right since they're filming in January. But don't worry 'cause like I said, they mentioned any one of the people on file can be called in for future seasons also.

Were you at Newcastle at 4pm? I was the tall young red-head with blue jeans a dark t-shirt and "martin yearley" nametag :-D

They opened the evening with "And welcome to the X-Factor!" and then, after much laughs, gave us those statistics :)

I reckon odds are about 1 in 5, but that doubles to 1 in 10 if they had more audition dates (which is likely, as our name tags specified 20th November)

I was at the 12 pm audition, I know they are doing some other auditions in London and Manchester, but I'm not sure about Newcastle. I keep looking at my phone waiting for it to ring ;-) I don't know if I can wait a week or two to find out...

Same here. Keep it close! :)

They have auditions in Manchester!?!? That could have saved me a £30 train ticket :( Also, a lot of the people I met in Newcastle were from Manchester...

I have a friend who told me she knows someone auditioning in Manchester, but I also noticed there were a lot of people from Manchester in Newcastle, so I'm not sure how it works. It would have saved me a few hours in the car going to Manchester, but I was happy just to get the chance to audition so I just went to Newcastle without asking about other locations.

I have my phone on my desk at the ready :-)

afraid no-one will help as it will hurt their chances if you can prepare some answers. That is why i won't help either as it will hurt my chances. Cruel but understandable

Agreed it seems a bit unfair to help, plus we've signed an agreement to keep things relating to the show confidential. Wishing everyone the best of luck though!!! :D :D :D

To all of you who had auditions:

Good luck, if you were yourself, then you should be fine.

Rockjack, you don't hear for another few weeks if you're successful or not... I wouldn't worry about seeing people getting close ups in another room - they may not have been related to DOND!
