Interesting article, though, thanks for the link. Let's just hope Endemol never force him to do anything he doesn't want to do - they should let him have his own say-so.

Personally, what I find most worrying about that article is this picture...

You scared the hell out of me, Will!

Reading the article...
Quote:
The 48-year-old

. That'd mean he was 18 when he started presenting Swap Shop...clearly wrong. Noel is actually *58* next month.

I agree with him, actually. While a celebrity special would be fun, Channel 4 would clearly get a load of unknown celebrities like people off Hollyoaks, or Big Brother contestants, and it'd be rubbish.

if celebrities were playing for charity, they might feel pressured to deal early therefore it might not be good

Endemol people, if you're reading this, what the hell are you thinking! You can't have a celebrity edition, that would totally ruin the show for good. Noel is right, the celebrities won't even be celebrities. The show would be renamed "I used to be famous for a bit (well I wouldn't say famous, just well known, well not even that...) but now my career (if you would call it that) has gone down the pan, so put be on some gameshow! Then I might just get a number one hit in the charts before I disappear off into the sunset and become a nobody once more!" No I am with Noel on this one.

EDIT: And how are the offers going to work? Is the Banker still going to act mean and try and avoid giving away as much money as possible? It would seem a bit odd. :?

THERE SHOULD NOT EVER BE A CELEBRITY EDITION OF DOND.EVER.in other words i 110%agree with noel.

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

I disagree with Noel! And if he has to go then so be it!

After all its not his show ;)

A celebrity Version would boost viewing numbers and you only need one to fill in whilst normal contestants open boxes ;)

I saw this earlier and had a shock. But I do kind of agree do we really need celebrities in each show we watch now?

Have to say I have mixed feelings on this... it wouldn't really fit with the current format of UK DOND, and a charity game perhaps wouldn't go well with the gambling element and the "nastiness" of the Banker...

Still, I'm not one of those DOND purists who would threaten to boycott the show if there was as much as a chair out of place, I'm always up for one-off things that are a bit different, and 22 Z-listers opening boxes in the wings would probably be quite entertaining. But of course anything that would make Noel quit gets a definite No Deal! :D

But I am!! A celebrity version would suck...unless Sarah counts as a celebrity. Yes, I think it might work quite well then...
