If you were playing, and the banker rings up at the start of the game, before opening any boxes, and made you an offer, would anyone consider accepting it, and if so, how much would it have to be for you to do that? If you deal, you would play the game as you would have done, with a very long proveout!

I'm thinking anything over £20,000 would give me some serious consideration, anything over £25,000 would be very hard to turn down, anything over £30,000 I'd be out of there! :)

Cue some predictable answers for some people :-D

It'd be a real "What the hell" moment, that's for sure. Especially if the offer was as huge as £20k+...would mess with my mind, certainly.

To be honest, I'd be worried that by dealing, I'd annoy millions of viewers watching, so I'd probably go on. But if the offer was something absolutely insane like £40k, yes, definite Deal.

If the £250k was in my box, though, the fix allegations would start up like no tomorrow! I'd probably believe them myself, actually...

If for some strange reason he did make an offer at the start of the show, I would probably No Deal as I'd like to play the game. However if the offer was anything above £50,000, then yes thank you very much I'll take that!

Same here, really. I really hope this never happens, though...

The reason I thought of it was I was reading one of the Bothers Bar commentaries, which said the Fair Deal at the start was about £9,000 (can't remember the exact figure), so why not make an offer at the start for novelty purposes and see the contestants reaction?

Can't see anyone going for 9 grand though! :)

If the banker offered £249,999 (He'd have to take a trip to India first) i'd still no deal. You can't exit a game before you even start playing it

Surely "playing the game" means trying to take the best Deal available? (Which £249,999 almost certainly would be...)

Wow, you'd be prepare to play the game and have a 21 in 22 chance of going home with less than what you've been offered.

Although Wakey, that could be a wise decision, I mean think of that extra 1p you could earn!! ;)

I might be tempted if the offer was over £50k but then the show wouldn't be as fun for me (if I was playing not watching at home) because I doubt i'd get the same rush from it.

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

£1 actually. :P

I agree with Wakey on this one - I'd definitely go through a couple of rounds before I consider dealing. You're there for the experience as well as the money!

Obviously £30,000+ would need some serious consideration, but I would rather play a bit of the game before taking any deals.

You agreed with me - I don't believe it :P
