It is all planned in advance, or otherwise we would see people playing on their 1st or 2nd show, and others waiting for 100, if it was totally random!

However, the players don't know the order, and while they can get their friends/family in the audience at about the time they are likely to be due up, not all of them manage to have them there for their show.

The production crew know who is playing before the show, as does Noel. When the player is picked, there is a 15-minute filming break, whilst they calm down, have their microphone fitted, and during this period, they put the family members / friends in the position where they normally sit in the audience. They also give microphones to the family and friends at that point. Then, they start the filming again, from where the player does the Walk of Wealth.

They choose the player, filming is stopped while that player collects their pics, etc, and then they start recording again.

Then why couldn't he have posted that? Even though it has a few errors, I can actually read that. This is a forum, not a chatroom.

This is from the forum rules. Just thought I'd point it out.

Back on topic, I never knew they stopped filming after the player has been selected. I wonder if they do that with Millionaire too... I always thought it was weird that the contestant always had a family member or friend sat in the audience.

I just really, really despise text talk on a forum which strives for excellence in its grammar :-D

No really. Just. Just as bad as dealing. Nah, dealing is still far worse.

You're not the only one, Wakey. But anyway, back on topic.

I'm sorry to say I am textist - its lazy! spk propr!!! thaip propr!!! grrrr!

Oh, and yeah, they have a break to move the family/friend into the audience and mike up and make up and get personal items. Name is called, surprise is filmed and congratulatory gestures given, person gets took off while camera goes to Noel/audience and then person does walk of wealth. There is a lot of heavy editing otherwise it would be v v strange if each game came to 45 mins exactly!

Yes, they do pause filming on Millionaire, for the same reasons

It would be interesting to see how they would do a live DOND.

It would not be too hard.

The day's player is already miked up and ready, show opens with "Today is Bartholemew's game. Bart, pick your box!" He does, the credits roll. As we dive back, the wings have had their boxes handed out and the player is sat in the crazy chair.

After that, it's down to Noel to earn his keep by keeping the show running to time - and he's no stranger to live telly, so it ought to be faily easy for him.

Impossible at the moment :P

That would give away future contestants......... It could be done for a one off when celebrities fill the wings and one of them plays for charity ;)
