:D The moment has arrived to select the most courageous contestant in the history of Deal Or No Deal so far. The voting closes in three days so vote now! The winner will be announced shortly after Deal Or No Deal is aired on Sunday evening 19/11/06. The cryteria used for contestants making the final was a) winning their respective heats and b) securing a minimum of 3 votes when voting in the heats closed yesterday. Who will win the title of Deal Or No Deal's Most Courageous Contestant? You decide! Here's a reminder of nine unforgettable shows:

Jennifer November 18th 2005 Jennifer rejected £52,000 to walk away with £120,000, the highest amount won officially so far in the history of Deal Or No Deal! :D

Trevor March 1st 2006 Trevor was offered £9,900 to deal at the 5 box stage with £250,000 and 4 low amounts left. He no dealed, taking the 40% chance of avoiding the £250,000 in pursuit of a dream payout. He did not avoid the £250,000 sadly and ended up with 1p :( but will there be sweet consolation for Trevor in winning this competition?

Hilary April 28th Hilary turned down £21,000 to be faced with winning either £5 or £50,000, perhaps the biggest gamble in the history of Deal Or No Deal. Her courage paid off, she won £50,000. :D

Shirley June 22nd Shirley rejected no less than £55,000 on her way to winning £20,000, the final banker's offer, still a good result but her courage didn't reward her as much as it could have.

Morris May 6th Morris was offered £101,000 with £20,000 and £250,000 left. In no dealing he stood to gain £149,000 and be the first jackpot winner! He no dealed, losing £81,000 on the offer in winning £20,000!

Simone May 29th Simone showed her courage as a true gambler in one of the most exciting games in the history of Deal Or No Deal. She reached the 5 box stage with £75,000, £250,000 and three blues. She was offered £25,500 to deal. Bravely, she no dealt. She took the £250,000 out, but was left with £75,000 and £1. Offered £15,500 she no dealt again! Sadly her courage didn't pay off and she won just £1. :(

Gaz May 2nd Gaz had a poor start to his game, and £100,000 was carried as the only representative of the Power 5 for much of the game. Gaz was offered £35,000 with £10,000 and £100,000 still left. He no dealed and won £100,000! :D

Khanny September 20th Khanny turned down some of the highest early offers in the history of Deal Or No Deal, £16,000, £28,000, £30,000, and £48,000 to boldly go all the way and open his box to win £5,000, his courage didn't pay off. :(

Raj May 19th Raj had relentless bad luck but would not accept any banker offer at any stage of the game. His courage didn't pay off, but he put a brave face on winning just £1 :(

I think it has to be Khanny,as whilst all of those players showed a great deal of courage, Khanny turning down such tempting and huge offers early on was very brave indeed! :D

After weighing it all up, given the amount of risk/reward there was on offer, it just had to be Jennifer. I think she would have gone past the point of courage into recklessness if she'd turned down the £120,000 however!

Though I was stuck between her and Khanny!

The first five votes have all been for different contestants so it doesn't look like there will be a runaway winner at the moment! imo it's not easy to choose between these players all of whom displayed courage. :)

Between Gaz and Morris for me. I went with Gaz although I'm having second thoughts... Khanny and Jennifer were brave too... oh it's too difficult.

Can you not see the name at the bottom of the list, people?!?! It says "Raj 2" please put that little dot in the circle next to that option 8)

Anyways, I voted Jennifer.

I went for Khanny...as great as Gaz's game was, his board/offers were so *beep* that he didn't really need much courage until near the end. He more or less had to just carry on.

I think Gaz just had that bit of extra luck you need - sure he had decisions to make, but I don't think any of them were REALLY hard. His first four offers were automatic no-deals unless you just HAD to go with something.

I think his first real decision came at £8,200 at the 5 box point, but with £100k still on the board, why not go on if 8 grand isn't going to change your life? He also had £10,000 to prevent absolute disaster, even if he lost the £100k. If he'd ended up with peanuts, at least he could go with his head held high thinking there was never life-changing money on offer!

Similarly at £35,000, he at least had £10k as back up, so he'd still go home with a nice sum even if it went wrong.

Now if he'd left Simon with the 1p instead of Tom with the £10k.......:)

Jennifer again. She's gone up in my estimation since I read that she was massively in debt at the time, and her target was £50k.

Of course, the fact that her gamble paid off helps!

ok, ive voted, and ive voted for Trevor.

I mean, he wanted enough to go to australia to see his brother who he hadnt seen for 20 years.£9,900 was more than enough to get to australia. And in turning down what he knew was very probably the most he would get offered in the game and what he knew was more than enough for what he wanted it for, and turning it down not once but twice, and then putting on a brave face when he won 1p instantly put him at no.1 on my list of the most courageous players.

thanks

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

I voted for Trevor too for similar reasons but it was a very tough choice! :D Trevor had no real fall back in no dealing, it was all or nothing and as you say he took it well when it didn't work out for him.

My vote goes to Khanny. The ease with which he refused the offer which was increased to £48,000 was quite something! Definitely the most daring we've ever had for me.
