I was just looking through wikipedia's contestant list which gives a detailed overview of when each player played, the offers they got, they amount they won etc etc, and came across Janelle. And then I remember who this was, and remembered how strange her game was. She seemed very cold with everyone, at times rude and looked as though she didn't want to be there. Also I remember that at the end, the other contestants were very slow in going up to congratulate her.

I was just wondering if someone was able to tell me what the matter was on that particular day? It was clear, as a viewer at least, that something was not right.

Well, let me just say, that a former contestant who is on these forums confirmed that there was nothing wrong with Janelle on that day...

Said former contestant also intimated that Janelle was permanently like that backstage and that nerves were certainly not a factor in her somewhat cold appearance.

I don't want to be rude to Janelle in case she reads this, but I think we can all agree she wasn't the most extravert and happy of contestants... sorry, but it's true. Someone made a post a while back similar to yours, Amidala, asking what was wrong with her, and, like you, someone also suggested that perhaps there was something wrong with her that day. A contestant who was on the wings the same time as Janelle simply replied by saying, "NO!", i.e. implying that Janelle was always like that. But, who knows?!

But it was obvious that there was something dodgy going on between her and the others - why else would they not rush up to congratulate her at the end?? That's probably about the only occasion in recent times when that has happened.

Er, I think what people have been trying to say is that she wasn't as well liked as other contestants, shall we say...I MAY BE WRONG, SO PLEASE WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT QUOTE ME ON THAT, but that is the impression I have got from other posters.

Ask Pennie - she was on at the same time and posts here from time to time. I think she's the only person who could tell you more about the enigmatic Janelle.....

I'm sorry, so as a fan of DOND I am not allowed to question (be it in a supposedly "negative" manner) the relationships that certain contestants had with others? As it happens I find this particular aspect of the game of great interest, how contestants get along during their time filming. Contestant conflict is of interest to me. It amazes me that you appear somewhat, annoyed that someone is posting something you don't like. Is this not a free forum? Just because my topic of conversation does not concern something overly positive, it is no reason for you to start questioning my motvies for being here.
