Hi there,

Just joined this great forum.

I received a call last week inviting me to the London audition next week.
Having never been to an audition, can anyone who's been to a DOND audition tell me what to expect?

They told me there would be 150 people there - chances of getting through seem slim.

Any hints or tips would be great.

Thanxxxxxx

Hi there,

Welcome to the forums Rocastle! Nice to have you with us!

Best of luck at your audition. The best advice I can offer is to be yourself and act as naturally as possible, easier said than done!

Hi, I i have just found this dond site & just joined this forum.
I went for an audition in August in bristol, they gathered all 50 of us in a room & just chatted & told us all about the show & what would happen & then they took a couple at a time to another room, clipped a mic to my top & sat me in front of a camera & asked me questions. It's all very relaxed & fun. Unfortunately i had picked up a bug 7 days before & that day was the first day out of bed so i was feeling really ill but i was determined to go. I felt that my audition did'nt go too well but i hope i will hear something in january, thats when they start filming again for the show. thanks for reading my ramblings.
best wishes to all.
cazz

Rocastle - you a gooner by any chance???

Anyway, the auditions fly by, seriously!!! You're gathered in a room where you report to a researcher you're there, they'll give you more application forms to fill out again, you'll go and have your pic taken with your sticky name label on and then you'll sit down and complete the forms. Once that's done, you queue up to hand it in, and then they'll randomly take people through to have their camera audition. You'll sit in front of the camera and there'll be a couple of researchers there and they'll talk to you, ask you to talk about yourself, ask you questions such as "are you a teamplayer?" "will you urge someone to go all the way or do you think you'll keep your opinions to yourself?" etc. etc. To be honest, you just have to answer honestly and be yourself otherwise they'll see that it's an act. They want good t.v. - they want honest fun people, just sit back relax and enjoy the dond adventure because this is just the beginning. If you don't make it to the next stage, so what - you've been one of the elite few to make it that far. If you're lucky enough like me, you'll be one of a few hundred that have made the show.

I honestly send you all the luck and love and really hope your audition goes well. It's a stepping stone to having the experience of your life and I hope all who apply are successful.

xxxx

Steph,

I am a gooner, how did you guess!!

Thanks for some good advice there - what answers did you give to the teamplayer question and whether or not you'll urge someone to go all the way?
I really will try and be myself - but as much help as possible is much appreciated.

Thanxxxxx

there's only one Rocky Rocastle ya know! :D I'm not a gooner by the way, I just love my football.

I can't answer that question for you, I don't know what you're like but you've just gotta go with the flow. Say something along the lines of..

"of course, I'm a people person, I'll talk to anyone, help anyone as much as I can but I wouldn't want to be the reason that someone made a decision. Everyone leads their own path, I'd just like to be able to help someone take the right direction. If someone were to ask me my opinion, I wouldn't hesitate to help them, but I wouldn't want them to go on my instinct - it's their future not mine."

You know what I mean, if you're a gooner, you've got to have a bit of the gift of the gab surely....... you've gotta be a "charlie big potata, giving it all the lemon!" ;) ;)

Shame you're not a gooner, you're missing out :-D

Thanx for that advice - have you been on yet?

Like it " charlie big potatoe" :) I can give it all that, but maybe these researchers are looking for something specific & i wanna make sure i have that.

I need the cash to pay for my season ticket, the prices are through the roof

As someone who lived in the Aresenal area for 25 years (I moved out 2 years ago) I have come to hate Arsenal. As a kid i loved them, I used to love George graham to bits and Wrighty, Donkey and many others. Refused to support them after Graham was fired.

Do you live in the area?

Oh and hello
