Who is the most courageous contestant to have played on Deal Or No Deal? This is not about the end result because in this game courage isn't always rewarded, but it's about who risked the most and showed courage! There is a thin dividing line between courage and foolishness, but that is for you to decide. There were other courageous contestants too so vote in Heat 2 and Heat 3 as well. Choose between these contestants first:

Jennifer November 18th 2005 Jennifer rejected £52,000 to walk away with £120,000! :)

John G February 18th 2006 John was offered £25,000 at the 5 box stage with £50,000 and £75,000 and three low amounts. Ignoring sound advice, he no dealed to go for the lifechanging money, but sadly it all went horribly wrong and he ended up with just £10. :(

Fin February 20th Fin rejected £44,000 at the 8 box stage to no deal all the way, but had to settle for £10,000 in his box. :(

Okiem February 23rd Okiem was offered £2,500 with £35,000 left and 4 low amounts. He no dealed, winning the banker's respect for his courage, and accepted the new offer of £17,000. :)

Trevor March 1st Trevor was offered £9,900 to deal at the 5 box stage with £250,000 and 4 low amounts left. He no dealed, taking the 40% chance of avoiding the £250,000 in pursuit of a dream payout. He did not avoid the £250,000 sadly and ended up with 1p :(

Saj March 16th Saj rejected an offer at the 2 box stage of £25,000 to open up her box and win £50,000 :)

Lucy March 30th Becoming the first contestant to have appeared in 50 shows, Lucy suffered a horrendous start to her game but came to the 2 box stage with £5 and £10,000 left and an offer of £2,500. She rejected the offer, no dealing, but sadly just £5 was revealed as her win. :(

Kirsty April 4th Kirsty turned down an offer of £125,000 to gamble £75,000 against £250,000 becoming the first player to have a chance of winning the jackpot as her box amount was revealed. She ended up winning £75,000. :o

Hilary April 28th Hilary turned down £21,000 to be faced with winning either £5 or £50,000, perhaps the biggest gamble in the history of Deal Or No Deal. Her courage paid off, she won £50,000. :)

Gaz May 2nd Gaz had a poor start to his game, and £100,000 was carried as the only representative of the Power 5 for much of the game. Gaz was offered £35,000 with £10,000 and £100,000 still left. He no dealed and won £100,000! :)

Morris May 6th Morris was offered £101,000 with £20,000 and £250,000 left. In no dealing he stood to gain £149,000 and be the first jackpot winner but he lost £81,000 on the deal in winning £20,000. :?

Gotta be Jennifer. The biggest offer ever in the history of Deal or No Deal turned down...and completely by accident! It's guts like that that'll give us our first £250k millionaire, a day which'll hopefully dawn on us soon. Kirsty turned down an offer over double Jennifer's, but she was guaranteed £75,000, whereas Jennifer could have had a final two of 10p and £250.

Some credit to Hannah too, though. She gave a target of her £2,000 overdraft, The Banker offered exactly that, and she turned it down...at the time I thought "You idiot! That was your target!", but she incredibly managed to get over triple as much as win £10k. It was tricky for her, I imagine, because although the offer was rubbish, it was her target, but she still managed to turn it around.

Yeah, I misremembered it as £3,000 until I checked Bother's Bar, then forgot to change the word.

I don't know who to go for. It'd have to be between Trevor, Kirsty, Gaz and Morris. I can't really remember Hilary for some reason. However, Trevor and Gaz were forced on by a bad game...

Hilary showed amazing nerve, but I didn't actually see her game.

I remember watching Okiem's game and being inspired by his courage, but his offer was pretty rubbish so the gamble wasn't that huge.

Morris was very daring but had a decent fall back position, and the same can be said for Kirsty.

Jennifer was very very brave even to have got to the offer prior to the 120k one, but again I didn't see her game.

So I went for Trevor on principle - it may not have worked out but he wanted to show the Banker he couldn't get away with giving low offers when the 250k is still on the board. It very nearly worked, and I felt sick to my stomach when he hit the 250k. I would have loved to have seen the Banker's reaction to a 1p - 250k final two, but alas, it wasn't to be.

Nevertheless, Trevor gets my vote.

Their is a difference between brave and greed and kirsty and morris were both that not so much Kirsty as she had a nice fall back box amount. Fin was another greedy person and so was John G he talked the talk but couldnt walk the walk. For me hands down GAZ wins this poll.

he was determined that he had the 250k in his box that he turned down 101,000.

Jennifer, without shadow of a doubt. She had a 30% chance of ending up with a blue/blue last pair, and I think if it had gone wrong, then Player 14 would be referred to by his name all the time. ;)

The difference between Player 14 being reckless and Jennifer being courageous however, was that Jennifer had a very good chance (40%) of a LOT more money than £52k (more than twice as much in fact). Under current banker behaviour, however, it would be a different story, I can't see £250k/blue finish result in an offer of much more than £52k! Player 14 was highly unlikely to get much more than the £28k he turned down!

I also think Khanny should be in the poll! :)

I am about to post most courageous DOND contestant Heat 2 very shortly. Hannah, Khanny, and Lance will be included. Any more suggestions for courageous contestants who deserve a mention other than those listed in the first poll? :)

How about Paul (3 July) for turning down £17,500 with £75k, £50k and three blues remaining, resulting in a wonderful offer when he avoided the £75k?

Shirley?

Simone?

Or Buddy? (That suggestion will go down like a lead balloon!)

Connell?

£50 Sarah?

Barbara (who swapped)?

I went with Morris and although I'm happy with my decision. I'm beginning to think I should have voted for Hilary. That was a real 'all or peanuts' decision.

I voted for Hilary because I think she showed true courage in what could have been one of the most disasterous gambles in the history of the show had things gone wrong and she only went away with the £5.

I thought Morris was courageous too having the self belief that he had the £250K in his box. He did however have the fall back of the £20,000 which Hilary didn't.

I voted for Hilary too. There is a big difference between £5 and £50,000, 1000% in fact. Hilary seemed to have so much belief as well, it was amazing and great television! :)

Trevor for me. There was no fall back for him, it was simply all or peanuts. He knew the odds were against him with a 1 in 3 chance of hitting the £250,000 in the next round, and still he played on with the belief he had it in his box. Unfortunately the gamble didn't pay off. :(

Trevor for me as well. It was a massive gamble but with an offer as poor as £9,000, it's hardly surprising he went on. I thought it was the most upsetting end to a DoND game we've ever had, even more so than Lisa.

I see "Player 14" (Madie) isn't included on the list. I think he was the biggest gambler of all, wasn't he?

Fadil should be in there, for being the first to really stand up to the Banker's tactic of making joke offers on an all-or-peanuts final two.
