I also thought it was Mr Blobby. I don't want to know for definate who the Banker is, it's half the fun of DOND not knowing.

The banker is Ebenezer Howard.



His butler is Raymond Unwin.



Sorry I'm being ridiculous. It's Mr. Blobby. Failing any of these options, I think it's just a production team and the man himself is just an unknown actor (possibly more than one) who provides the banker's voice and may have a say-so over the offers too.

Sometimes you can hear him slightly when Noel or a contestant are speaking to him. Or perhaps Noel just does a dodgy impression of the Banker's voice.

That's right, and I read way back when it first began that he was the banker, but I think H is right, there's more than one, I think there's a group or certainly a couple of people googling away furiously for some of the info he comes up with on the spur of the moment, with one of them making the call. There's also, as someone else pointed out in another thread a while back, a degree of inconcistency in the banker's offers & readings of players, which would support the theory it's more than one person.
