Will Deal or No Deal ever end? What do you think give me your opinions of what will happen if Noel decides to call it a day.
What other presenters would be good on the show?

Discuss :D

It's always going to end some day, but hopefully not for a while yet! ;)

I know others can, but I really couldn't imagine the show without Noel. I just think it wouldn't be the same! :D

Wasn't it posted somewhere that Noel intends to quit when his contract expires at the end of next year?

Yeah! And I cant see him extending that contract so I guess that would be the end :?

Then Endemol would either axe the show or change the format.

Is Noely really going to quit? That'll be rubbish.

Endemol will get someone else in and it just won't be the same. Like Countdown with Des, he's OK, but he's no Richard Whiteley. I don't watch Countdown anywhere near as much as I used to do now.

Richard Whitely was just so unique and Countdown will never be the same again no matter who presents it :(

I think he wanted to take some time out to travel or something - though there were suggestions that they could record enough episodes to cover his time off and allow him to return afterwards.

Still, he's apparently contracted for another 300 or so episodes, so we're only half way through the lifetime of the show at most. And the way the ratings have picked up again since the break suggests it potentially has the staying power of a Millionaire or Weakest Link at least, even if perhaps not 25 years like Countdown!

You can't beat the originals

But it will end someday. Probably ratings will drop :(

In one sense, from an international perspective, the show is so popular that it is likely to continue on a permanent basis somewhere, and of course the repeats will get syndicated to channels like Challenge. Obviously Noel will end up stepping down from it at some point, but I think what we will see, and perhaps we already are, are a number of shows that use similar principles of luck, risk , and reward. I think when Noel goes, if they were to continue they would have to have someone very charismatic who could step into the role for Deal Or No Deal to continue. Noel has made the show his own, so that would be very tough.

If C4 and Endemol end up axing the show, another company will ressurect it knowing the huge sucess it has had in the past.

I think Noel will want to leave before ratings hit rock bottom...

I'm sure he'll have a great career with the BBC in future years too. Deal or No Deal is only a few years old and the UK version still remains very popular. I have no doubt that the prize fund will increase at somepoint because of the gradual increase in the viewers prize fund over the past weeks. This should increase ratings after a £250,000 win.

After the £250,000 win, the show will suffer

ITV will be sniffing about when the programme eventually ends, and the ITV version will be trashy, like the USA DOND, with someone like Brian Conley or Joe Pasquale presentingit.

If it goes the trashy route, I will not be tuning in to it! (although I have to confess I do like USA DOND!)

Nor will I... it never will on C4 but it could do if ITV got their grubby mitts on it.

Some facts:

ITV wanted DOND from C4 a while back
When ITV didn't get it, they criticised DOND for not being original programming.

In a way, I want it to end. It's like when celebs die young, they're remembered for going at their best. I don't want it to fizzle out like WWTBAM? or Weakest Link.

Of course, don't let it end for a while....

I think it will end sooner rather than later. I should imagine that Noel will leave during the next couple of years, and they will try to replace him, but it wont work so they'll get rid of it.

I don't really want it to end, but I would personally stop watching when Noel leaves, as he is DoND. Sort of like Richard was Countdown, which I have never been a fan of, but in my opinion it's gone down the tubes a bit since RW died. I should think that now Des O'Conner is on it, it will last no more than a year before they get rid of it, and the same will happen when Noel leaves DoND.

I for one never want Noel to leave, a good example is Countdown is no way as good as it used to be.
