Well it's been quite a year, and obviously everyone has their own favourite contestants and memorable moments. But what was the game/show that defined the year, that really summed up what this show is all about?

I've come up with 10 unforgettable shows, obviously there are many great ones I've left out but these were all unique in one way or another.

Jennifer (£120,000, 18 Nov): The first six-figure winner on daytime TV and a record that still stands. Showed the huge money was winnable, even though the Banker was more generous then!

Nick (1p, 3 Jan): While it's always painful viewing, the bad game can be as unforgettable as the good one. And Nick gave a great display of how to take defeat as he founded the 1p club!

Brenda (£57,000, 9 Feb): The once-in-300-years board. The eight box offer was enough to get her out of the chair and it could have been even more, but it's safe to say we'll never see anyone in a position like that again!

Marcus (£31,000, 11 March): We had DOND - The Chat Show as the show went prime time. Still the all-time ratings peak, and while he went one deal too soon this showed how characters as well as games can make this show.

Kirsty (£75,000, 4 April): The dream final three, and the game that showed us the big one can be won - even though the luck wasn't with her at the final stage on this occasion.

Gaz (£100,000, 2 May): An apparent trainwreck at the second break, the ice-cream man turned it round in such spectacular fashion he became the second biggest winner ever, showing that even when just one big amount remains up there, it can still be won!

Morris (£20,000, 6 May): The biggest gamble in DOND history, and second shot at the big prize. Not the ending anyone wanted but this kind of courage/madness will win it for someone one day!

Sally (1p, 14 July): The start of what could be termed "1p Week" at the end of the first season, and nobody will forget the character shown by Sally in battling on to the end and becoming the first woman in the "phonebox".

Lance (£87,000, 30 August): One of the most eagerly awaited games after his popularity during his time on the West Wing, he didn't disappoint - earning a dream finish of £75k/£100k.

David J (£70,000, 29 Oct): A great party atmosphere for the anniversary show, and a game worthy of the occasion as the quarter-million reached the final two in play for the first time since May.

Has to be Morris in my mind. It's going to take someone like him to risk £81K in order to win the holy grail.

It will be far more satisfying if someone won the £250K with a middle red left on the board than if they get the £75K/£250K or £100K/£250K dream final 2.

It would have to be Kirsty for me because this was the first game
where we held our breath as her box was opened with the 50/50 chance that someone was going to win £250,000. It can only get one better than that-the first jackpot winner whenever that happens! :P :D

Not necessarily, not if we have another game like Kirsty's where the risk could be far less.

I had to vote Morris. His game was amazing, and he was a really nice, genuine bloke aswell. He deserved to have that 250k on the table.

Plus he was cute, which is always an added bonus.

As great as games like Jennifer and Lance were, I don't think anything has touched Kirsty and Morris in terms of what has been aired so far because of the £250,000 factor in both games. Of all the contestants listed for this poll, Morris, Sally, and Lance are three of the most charismatic figures the show has seen as well, regardless of their games.

Gaz, because I like big wins but I don't like people winning the £250,000 (not that I've had a chance to like or dislike it, as it hasn't happened, but I won't like it when it does happen)...so well done to Sarah for getting it out of the way right at the start and letting him go to the end and win the £250,000! Actually, why isn't Sarah's game up there? :o

Haha, I love how you quoted and agreed with my post, but you left out the bit about how cute Morris was ;)

Watching some of the highlights, I'd say Andy Kelly's "war" against the banker.

Tricky. I mean Nick founded the 1p club which was a defining moment in the show. However Morris' game I remember well as at the time I really thought is he actually going to do it.

I wanted to put 1p Trevor and Sequencegate, as going for the £250k with four other boxes containing peanuts showed true grit and determination to risk everything to go for the big one. That was more of a gamble than even Morris, as he at least had £20k to fall back on!

Heh, I saw all those shows on original transmission except Sally's!

The shock of Jennifer's £52,000 No Deal was heightened by the fact that had she taken it, it'd have still been the biggest amount ever won on daytime television...until that 10p went, I thought she'd done a Player 14 (can't we just call him Madie yet?) and completely blown it. Ok, so I wanted her to take out the £750 and have the Sara decision, but £120,000 is still a hell of a lot of money, and a truly amazing game. Incredible that it's coming up to a year now and it's still the biggest win.

Kirsty and Morris - both were incredible, but Kirsty's for me suffered because some absolute moron posted that she won £75,000 on Wikipedia an entire month before her game was shown. But all I knew is that she won £75,000, so her final three was still an incredible surprise to me, but as soon as that £100,000 went it was obvious that she was gonna No Deal and win £75k. Luckily no spoilers dogged Morris' game, and that had me on the edge of my seat...I did somewhat doubt he'd win £250k as I'd figured it'd be spoiled in the papers ages beforehand, but I really, really wanted to be proven wrong. The fact that no one's gambled for the £250k since makes it even more incredible.

For the vote, though, I would go for Gaz. If I wanted to show someone who's never watched the show how great it is, and could only show them one episode, it'd be that one. It shows that after a horrible, horrible start, you can recover and win a six-figure sum which NO ONE expected. And the moment when Noel opens the lid, reveals £100,000, and Gaz gets absolutely mobbed is still one of the most joyous moments in Deal or No Deal history.

It has to be Gaz for me, for a number of reasons:

2nd ever biggest win
Best ever turnaround
The low £35k offer the Banker gave to force him to go on and win the £10k didn't work!
It was an OPW (obviously!)
It had been rumoured that there was a big money game on the Thursday, but it actually came on the Tuesday... so I wasn't expecting him to win the £100k!
He was a great bloke.
He gave the banker a chance to stick a 99 in the offer, and Gaz's reply of "how about putting hundreds and thousands in it" was a fabulous and literally inspired reply... and it turned out to be true!

I'd have to say Kirsty, great game but all other games pretty much summed up the show well also.

Most definitely Gaz for me!! FANTASTIC game, the only game I can watch over and over and still experience the same emotions that I went through when first watching it!

Incredible turn-around and extremely brave decisions (especially turning down £35,000 at the end!!) and the perfect ending!! :-D

If anyone should ask me what Deal or No Deal is all about, this is the game I shall bore them to death with!!!

Pretty much sums up the way I feel too. I love the 'hundreds and thousands' joke! I seem to remember dancing around the room when the £100k was revealed, can't say I've ever done that for any other dond contestant...
