I made a post a while back about how the total amount that has been in the player's box is considerably less than the total amount that has been won. However, according to Kestral's stats on DOND.co.uk, the figure for total amount in box has overtaken total amount won! Perhaps players really should no deal more?

Answer: No, but it's interesting to note that the two figures have now swapped...

The total amounts in player's boxes has been pushed up by people like Barbara, who had £100k in her box, but swapped and won £1k.

I think Barbara felt she had to swap

If everyone no dealed to the end the cumulative payout would go up dramatically, but you would get a lot more traincrashes and peanuts games!! You would get more losers than winners, but the winners would win big! I think Wakey would enjoy it!

I think you read a wrong stat somewhere, h2005. The amount in boxes has nearly always been more than what the player won.

That fact that the players would have won £1,300,000 more taking their boxes hasn't happened recently!

After just 50 games, there was around £225,000 more in the players boxes than what was won.

When I first saw the show I thought

"That's pointless, if the banker really did want them to win as low as possible he would offer 1p everytime, as half of the values are blues!"

But seeing that stat, and the power of the power 5 I realised I was wrong.

I was always of the impression that it was impossible to have a disaster if you had a Power 5 value in your box, and even if you deal for less than it, you still get a handsome sum. However, Barbar's game proved me ompletely wrong!

Hmmm...I wonder what the lowest anyone's dealt for with a Power Five amount in the box is.

OK, here are the lowest Deals for each of the Power Five:

£35k - Simon (2), £13,000
£50k - Sue, £8,401 (Matt swapped for £5,000)
£75k - Richard (2), £6,100
£100k - Johnnie, £8,300 (Barbara swapped for £1,000)
£250k - Debbie (1), £15,000

So it looks like Richard has a special place in wakey's Hall of Shame...

Lowest I can think of off the top of my head is Sue's £8,401 with £50k in her box - still a good sum IMO. If the offers were poor with a power 5 still in play, you wouldn't deal, which is why it's impossible to have a disaster unless you swap it away!

Surprised the £35k one isn't lower - there have been deals in the 4-figs with £35k in the last two (Buzz and the original Steve), and Dot dealt for £3,100 and kept it into the last two!

What about the other way round - the highest deals for the Banker's power 5?

I was thinking for a moment then that Billy's was the biggest banker beating ever... then I remembered Jennifer, who dealt at £120,000 with £750 in her box! Thathas-to be the biggest ever, surely?

Depends how you define it. Jennifer made the biggest profit on her box, but Julie won the biggest perecentage of her box...

Mmm... but that was only because it was a stupidly small amount in her box - 1p. - Surely the biggest beating has to be Jennifer? And probably the biggest we will ever see, judging by the banker's lower offers in the latter stages of the game these days!

well, i thoight jeff's £36,000 - then £64,000 - were quite alot more generous than i expected!

What about Trevor's £9,900 offer? And it happened again with David W, I think, but his offer was £9,000, and he'd already dealt.

Or Debbie's Deal at 15k & If she had been still in play he would have offered 60k with 1p/250k left!

Looking back at David J's last offer, i'd hate to see what the banker would offer nowadays on a 1p/£250k split!
