We've had the official birthday, but let's not forget the significance of
October 31st which was after all the date of the very first Deal Or No Deal
Show!

I missed it, didn't tape it or anything

It would be interesting to know how many people watched the very first show on the day it was first aired, October 31st 2005.

You've missed Ken from last week - his peak offer was just £3,000. I think Jenna had a £4,000 offer, too.

MisterAl did some great stats after the 100th and 200th games - hopefully he'll be able to do them again after the 300th, which is only a week or so away!

What big hype are we going to have for that show? My guess is another £20k on the table, and keep your eyes peeled for the contestant's lucky number, the £250,000 might be in there!

Incredible, that at this time last year, we were all waiting to see what Des Lynam was going to be like hosting Countdown...oh, and waiting around afterwards for some new Noel Edmonds show, too!

And, to further boast about me having a tape of the first episode from the first showing, here's some pointless trivia:

The first ever continuity announcement into DOND was "Now on 4, Noel Edmonds hosts a brand new series where people can win an incredible amount of money. Deal...or No Deal!".
The first DOND advert break consisted of ads for a Philips ambilight HDTV, Activia, HP printers (with that Christopher Eccleston lookalike), Tetley extra strong, Kashi, Philips lighting, Sky, the Holland and Barrett Half Price Sale, Duracell, and Philips Open MRI Scanner.
And in the second, ThermaCare, Cathedral City, Gala Bingo, Stannah Stairlifts, Sheila's Wheels (a new ad at the time!), Morrisons, Sharps Autumn Sale, MOBEN Autumn sale, Loreal Age Perfect, and then Richard and Judy plugged their Halloween show.
And the first LTL winner was Gemma Hodnett from Plymouth, who won £1,000!

Oooh, that ad's very interesting, thanks Billy...makes the show look pretty crap, though, to be honest. I doubt I'd want it to watch it based on that.

Thanks for posting that trailer on Youtube Billy. I don't remember seeing that at all, even though I watched Countdown on that day, and of course DonD afterwards. Weird!

31/10/2005 will always be a date imprinted on my mind - the day of the first ever DOND and it was also the A2 geography coursework deadline day... which involved me getting yelled at because the teacher had c*cked something up and told me to do the wrong thing, yet I got the blame!

It was nice to get home after that and see Noel back on the TV! It cheered me up and from that day onward, 4:15pm was never the same again!

Thanks for posting that trailer, by the way, Billy. But why was there no mention of Noel in the trailer?

I'd have thought he'd have been one of the main selling points!

I don't know that that many people in the forum got to see the first show, I missed it

but I did see the second one
