I've been wondering for a couple of weeks now about this "legalised lottery" thing that comes on at every commercial break, where they have now taken to having the "you can win the contents of this box..." introduced by "Hi, I'm .... from the East/West (delete as appropriate) wing". This really annoys me as I prefered the original voice-over woman who did a more professional job. Why did C4 change this practice, and is it now inserted in contestants contracts that they have to do one of these ad-break "voice overs" and do you get paid any extra for it?

And the really big question, when does poor Lucy get to play? She's been there FOREVER!

Good question about the contestants voice-over and being in their contracts/being paid for doing it. They would have obviously paid the original person who did the voice-overs, so it would only seem fair to pay the contestants.

I must say I prefer the contestants doing it. It makes it a bit more interesting. But surely they won't get paid, otherwise the contestants that didn't get a chance to do the voice over would feel a bit miffed.

I think the idea of the voiceovers is to help viewers familiarise themselves with the contestants. They only started a few days before I took the hotseat so perhaps I am not the best person to answer this but I don't believe there's a payment for it and in actual fact, I would be surprised if any contestant would want one - it's all part of the amazing deal or no deal experience!

I would have thoughts so, or at least a good majority of contestants. 6 people did recordings whilst I was in Bristol, although they started doing it a couple of days before my show. Has anyone else noticed that Jim refers to "west wing" when he is actually on the best wing - EAST!!! Now, that's going to cause a lot of debate ;) ;) ;)

Is it just me or does anyone else think that Jim looks a bit like Steve Martin? :-)
