Has anyone else noticed the dramatic increase in the amount of advertisments shown during the deal or no deal breaks? I remember during the first season they'd last almost half as long as they do now.

Probably because the show's so popular, which makes sense from the advertisers point of view, but it's sucking all the fun out of the 'guess when noel is going to call a break' mini game we all love to play.

Could be worse, I bet they have a good twelve hours of adverts in Australia ^^

ON the subjects of adverts, we haven't had any good advert jokes for a while now and they seem to strike me more as totally setup now.

But I agree with the adverts lasting a long time, its nearly 5 minutes now.

I knew we'd end up talking about this :D

Yeah, the advert jokes arent original anymore, but I still enjoy them when he does think one up.

Each episode only lasts 36 minutes when you cut out the adverts, which I do when I record DOND!

I haven't noticed a difference to be honest, but maybe that's because I've been watching on S4C which shows different adverts to everyone else. Getting Cable TV next week though! Hurrah!

But 36 minutes for a show? The advert breaks do build up tension and what I have noticed is Noel sometimes calls the breaks in different places now, I seem to remember that for a long time they always came at the same time in the game but maybe things are getting different? Or is it just me.

Noel just says "Well, this is a very interesting game. Come back after the break" now, and it's boring. I miss when everyone would 'Awwww!' instead of a sort of awkward silence, then clapping.

He needs to start grabbing a few more boxes. Or bring back that 'Did I say break?' catchphrase he had for a while.

I only heard him say that once. It was a pretty good line.

I almost always turn over to another channel during the ad break cos there are so many boring insurance and loan type ads these days! I love good quality ads though but there aren't enough of them. What do other people do during the ad breaks of DOND?

I did that during the classic More4 repeats in the Summer break. Normally I don't need to, though, as I have a TV in this room that picks up Channel 4. Need to use the downstairs TV for More4.

The same, but in a far more excited fashion.

I would watch it up here, but A) I like to sit in the comfy sofa, and B) The TV in my room is really old with a terrible picture, so I wouldn't be able to appreciate the full horror of Noel's shirts...

Whilst I use my TV Card, I just browse the internet when ads are on, also putting my speakers off for any annoying adverts

I always watch the More 4 repeat, so I always switch over the Channel4 for The Simpsons/Hollyoaks during the DOND breaks! :)
