I've heard that due to the widespread popularity of DonD, it's going to get a better timeslot on Channel 4, due to large viewing numbers. Anyone heard anyhting about this, when it's likely to be?

I've heard it's getting a short run in primetime on a Saturday, but leaving the weekday times alone. I don't think they have said what time it would go out or when it will start. It has already been moved slightly later on a saturday night for the past couple of weeks.

They are probably testing the water to see how it fairs, it will be interesting to see how it goes.

No disrespect to channel 4 but it's not like going prime time on BBC1 or ITV. Yes, they will get a few more viewers and it will probably get featured in the tv listing mags, but it won't get the success it deserves on Channel 4. Shame, as it's a great show.

Yeah, I'd heard about Saturday primetime, but thought that it'd be odd to only have one a week, so what you said sounds sensible about just moving the Saturday one and leaving the weekday ones.

They're almost certainly seeing if the show can compete on Saturday nights, so that they can decide if a full primetime run (with bigger money?) is worth considering.

I think that would work, but we must remember what happened with Weakest Link...

I certainly think they are going about it the right way, by just testing the water on a Saturday night rather than suddenly moving the whole show every night to a later time.

Noel Edmonds was recently on Des and Mel and was asked about moving the show to primetime and he said he was very cautious about this because the show has found a very nice niche audience that has built up a big following over a short period of time, and he was very concerned that the producers could affect the success by pushing the show too quickly and burning out the show.

The show has certainly done very well in a short period of time and built up a great following, it would be an enormous shame if the producers played around with the show too much, possibly trying to cash in on the success too quickly and end up killing the show. As the saying goes 'if it isn't broke, don't fix it'.
