Exactly! And if it's there for the 250th show, I'll start questioning the word random.

Well, it was there on show 100 which made me suspicious.

Show 150 produced a 1p winner though, and show 200 the "rock" was on the table, so not too much of a pattern there!

I'm more worried it will be a trainwreck game like Dave E's. If you think about it, the 14th has been the crappiest day of the month in DOND.

July 14 - Sally won 1p
June 14 - Nessie won £10 and Scott won £5
April 14 - Fadil won 1p
March 14 - Flash dealt at the 3rd round for £6,000
Feb 14 - Helen beat the banker but only won £4,800
Jan 14 - Alan got the lowest ever peak offer and also sold a £5,000 box for £1,000
Dec 14 - Jo sold a £100,000 box for just £19,000
Nov 14 - Adrienne won £8,000 but could have £39,000 if she'd dealt one round later

I hope this run of luck turns round in the biggest possible way!

And what odds all the offers up to a point will be £x,250? :)

It was last seen 49 shows ago:
If its found today
One £250,000 on table every
17 (approx) shows

But the one pence was way overdue, Because it took 90 shows for it to be back on the table. ;)

Yeah, and then the 1p was on the table two or three times in the week before the summer break!

Interesting stats about the 14th...

and there was me thinking the 13th was supposed to be unlucky, although some people who played then have done well

And again with Sharron a couple of weeks ago, and also Helen today!

Wouldn't it be great if we had a run like that with the £250,000... although they tend to be unsatisfactory finishes when people find it in there when they have dealt for much less, it just about guarantees a decent outcome and maybe if we had it there 4 times in a short space of time one of them would go on and win it!

We've had four 1p boxes in the past 23 shows...as well as one person swapping for it!

Although I really don't want a £250k winner, so as mean as it sounds, I'm quite happy with that state of affairs...

Despite what Noel and / or Endemol may think, I also think a £250k win could be actually bad for the show, because there is currently the element that no-one has won it yet. When and if  it eventually gets won, there will be the feeling of "oh, well, someone's already won it, it doesn't matter if the next contestant wins it". Anyone else agree?

Well, I've got mixed feelings about it really, it could cause people to lose interest once it's won and the fact it hasn't been won yet is one of the things that keeps us all watching, but on the other hand I really want to see it happen at some stage and with the uncertainty about Noel's future plans it's possible that there might only be a year or so left.

However if it is won and the show is still continuing in the longer term, or maybe even has a relaunch with a new host and/or on a new channel like KP's game, there's still the possibility of raising the top prize to £500,000 or even £1m. Whereas I don't think "Who Wants To Be A Two-Millionaire" would really have worked...

I agree, the show will have peaked if someone wins it, and there just won't be the same suspense if there's the possibility of it being won again.

I'll be quite happy to see an outcome like Germaine's if someone has the £250,000 in their box, I mean £75,000 is still a wonderful life-changing sum, would anyone (except Wakey ;) ) have no-dealt that with £1 in the other box?

No1Tomfan - sorry, what I meant to say was the 14th had been the worst day of the month for DOND games! And Tom had a great result with Box 14 so it's not all bad!

The 13th of the month on the other hand has been rather good:

Sep 13 - Helen sold a 1p box for £16,006
July 13 - Lynda B won £20,000 my dealing early, but it was just what she needed (and the proveout offer was inflated!)
June 13 - Jo won £31,000 and Daz scored an OPW with £19,900
May 13 - Max won £7,700 but had a blue in her box
Apr 13 - Maxine won £10,000 in her box, higher than any of her offers
March 13 - Sarah won £27,000 with £1 in her box
Feb 13 - Chris won £1,500 would would have had a trainwreck if he'd continued, plus there was the opening the zero value box incident! :)
Jan 13 - Arlette won £21,000
Dec 13 - Rob receovered from a trainwreck start to win £10,000

Yes, bring on the lucky 13th! :)

Indeed, there is scope to raise the UK jackpot whereas there isn't on Millionaire.

That's the thing - it wouldn't put me off watching if it's won, but I think it would with a lot of people, which would lead to them making a load of changes, and I don't want that at all. I like it just the way it is, and don't want them messing about with it...so no £250k win, please...

I would only stop watching it if they made it crappy, i.e. made it loud and awful like The Price Is Right. The statistics side of DOND also interests me, though, so I'd probably end up still watching it. But I never want Noel to leave.

eg previous offer chart.
