A couple of bits of literature that inspired me prior to my game - does anyone have any other favourites that are DOND-relevant?

If, Rudyard Kipling

Second stanza

Quote:
If you can dream -- and not make dreams your master;
If you can think -- and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same:

Third stanza

Quote:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings,
And never breathe a word about your loss:

Julius Caesar, William Shakespeare

Act IV, Scene iii

BRUTUS wrote:
There is a tide in the affairs of men,
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat;
And we must take the current when it serves,
Or lose our ventures.

I found this thread whilst I was looking at some of Bushy's posts(we were wondering in another thread where he'd got to :D ):

Surely Morris' poems should be in here?! ;)

Right, here are Morris's poems from all of the games I have...let me know if you can fill in any of the "unknowns"! (Ah, I do like a nice project...)

Helen - "I hope it's blue
Just for you."

JT - "I hope this is JT
Just Tiny."

Pat G - None.

Pete - Unknown.

Cathy - Unknown. (Something that rhymed "Cath" with "Bath" and "laugh", I think.)

Maxine - "I wish you more money
Gorgeous Maxine
Let's have a low figure
And this box not be mean
Let's have a blue
In Box 15!"

Fadil - "I wish you more money
My good mate Fadil
On this Good Friday
Let's keep it real
Let's have a blue
When I pop this seal."

Gabrielle - "I wish you more money
Black Widow no more
Let's have a blue easter egg
In Box Number 4."

Julia - Unknown.

John - None.

Linda - None.

Gary - None.

Michael - "Michael, I believe in fate
I hope this box doesn't take the Michael
Let's have a blue in Number 8."

James - "Good luck with lots of money
Junior Daddy with all your tricks
Let's have another blue
In Box Number...6."

Clare - "Good luck my dear Clare
In your big money dream
Let's have a little blue
In Box 15." (Delivered in a Scouse accent.)

Dave E - None.

Dot - "Dot, you're caring, compassionate
And well genuine
I hope there's £35,000
In Box Number 9."

Richard - Unknown. (He did it in a Yorkshire accent and said something about a cup of tea, I think.)

Hilary - "My darling, super Hilary
From the Red Box military
In this Number 2
I'll be some blue artillery."

Massimo - "Massimo, Massimo
Such a humble man
In Box 15
I hope there's fifteen grand!"

Francesca - "Well, Francesca, I ain't known you for long
But for me you'll do
In Box Number 12
I hope there's a blue."

Morris - "Come on Gaz!
We can still step into more money heaven
Let's have a blue
In Box Number 11!"

Pat M - "As your adopted son
Pat, you are the golden one
In Box 21
I hope there's a blue one.

Patrick - Unknown. (Something that rhymed "mate" with "8".)

Sandy - "Good luck, my darling Sandy
I hope there's a blue in here
So it's all fine and dandy."

I'd have posted it if biller didn't.

When Morris said 'box' he looked at his box to see what number it was (So he could find a rhyme.) It was box 15 (AGAIN!)

Well what about Emma B's “Morris Morris you're a star, in Box 13…I just hope its blue.” That just beats all rhymes...

"Morris, we think you're a total fox
I hope there's something lovely for you in my box."

 I nearly fainted.

There wasn't a rhyme for Gary's game as it was post-deal. He tended not to do them when he was left until after the deal.
